Another great video, thank you Dan. I would say number one for me is to understand the financial rules, invoicing, expenses, vat, payroll etc as much as possible. Not being paid to say this, but speak to an accountant, I ask my accountant (Heelan's of course) about most things she is great. Always gives me advice and sends me links for further reading if I want to read more. Some people don't have time or the interest to learn it which is also fine and then it pays to have a trusted accountant to do it all for you. One of the first things I did was start talking to an accountant, and had training on book keeping in QuickBooks.
For sure Joe, that’s what we are here for! Whenever we do these vids we try to give as much of a balance as poss so it’s not just ‘pay an accountant’, particularly as accountants vary massively in services and expertise.
Thank you, cashflow is an important number for me. I predict all my bills 3 months in advance, then spend strategically to hit my profit targets. But I'll need to learn Xero because finding a capable bookkeeper isn't easy or cheap... 😅
For sure tracking that cash flow certainly is important! We have a couple of blogs on the subject, no Xero needed www.heelanassociates.co.uk/cashflow-planning/
