Song of the Day: loved it!
Exchange of the Day: Cole “If I had know that was there, I had ran away yeaaaars ago”. Brian “Gosh, that would’ve been nice” 😂😂😂😂
I did listen and then came back. It’s the theme tune to one of the best ever series on BBC “The Peaky Blinders”, well worth a watch
Time for Brian to purchase a leaf blower for you to clean bunk!!!!
Cleaning your troughs out is a sign of a Good Cattle Rancher who CARES about his cows. Keep up the good work
Thanks 👍
Honest Feedback! I call'em like I see'em!
You and your dad work so well together. I know there are probably times when it doesn’t always go that way , but that’s in all families. You two are my favorite UA-camrs to watch!😍
Me too👍
I just enjoy so much music Cole plays during the bailing when he takes drone video of Brian bailing & the bails dropping off the bail rail- 1 to each side. Also when they cutting hay, or working ground in that crazy shaped field. My son says it is an autistic guitar being played during the bailing music.
Broom cam for the win!
Red Right Hand by Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds is a favorite in one of my all time favorite movies:
Dumb and Dumber
Yay for the drive down gate!
And excellent high side tractor driving the ditch.
Hey!!! It's not being "LAZY"...it's working smarter not harder ❤
Those gates are amazing 😊
Look at you showing off with your precipitation and green pastures. Hope you send some our way down south. Also Brian broke that bolt loose with what we call Dad strength.
No slacking on Sonne Farms that's for sure.
Always lots of items in any Farms bucket list and watching Cole and Brian working together and seperately is definitely entertaining.
Now I hope I remember what the song of the day is Big Daddy DJ Brian gave us.
I wish they'd put it in the description below.
Hi Cole, is the rain ever going to stop? Good to see you are getting all the small jobs out of the way before you get busy and you seem to like working with fences / gates. The mowing, racking and baling of the grass in the drains is not as easy as it looks but at least they are bales you won't have to buy. Brian picked a great song of the day by Nick Cave. I haven't seen Jeff in the videos for a while, I hope he is doing ok. Thanks for sharing. Chris from Australia 🇦🇺.
I know you'd rather have a little standing water in that ditch than drought. Good show Cole.
You better move the 🐝, the colony can do big damage. You are young but you are learning each day. You are very lucky young man to have your dad to teach you 👍🦅🇺🇸❤️
Just a heads up, Smithfield is dropping 40 pork producers and a plant. Good news for uncle Jeff. Buy his hogs at market, haul with beef to Sturgis for processing. Develop a beef, pork and variety pack of ground meats. Sell boxes pre ordered and give refund or OWL ships the backorder and you earn the marketing fee. Storla will be a great sales and distribution point with refrigeration. One day you will need to buy locally to fill the growth. Add How Farms Works, Millenial Farmer, Cole the C star for 10% of the retail for promoting the channel and direct beef pork sales. Jerkey asap. Mike OWL is your experienced consultant for start up.
Wow. A few hours in the life of a farmer.. so exciting to watch as you work your butt off! Your a fantastic worker. Great job also on the fence your building..
Thank you
Ditch hay, can safe the day you never know, glad you got it bailed, stay safe you all greetings from a Dutch dairyfarmer
Well, ya know, now I'm anticipating a bee removal video next year.
Sorry Cole, I had to pause and listen to Brian's song of the day. I was intrigued by the suggestion. Great pick for song of the day. I've heard of Nick Cave but haven't heard this track. Thank you, Brian, you have great taste in music.
I know you are a lucky man to be able to farm with your dad and his setup, some people don't have land for hay and count on putting up ditches for their hay
If the bees just moved in you can try hanging a "Hot Shot" bug thing by the entrance it may make them move on it worked for me in a couple days. If they have comb in there though you need to get it out or it'll attract critters and the next swarm that goes by to move in.
Ty Jesus for helping Cole and his dad this year and sending rain ty ty ty
Thank you Lord for answered prayers! Amen
Find a local Bee keeper they may be able to move the bee's. Always challenges in farming but you are planning ahead like installing drive thru gates
Hey Cole, a little tip I learned years ago. Installing wooden fence posts when you're finished driving in cut the top off at a slight angle.
Let's water runoff, they'll last longer.
I think the deck looks fine, the important thing, is it safe, it looks like it is to me. I hope those bees are honey bees and not yellow jackets, I just dealt with those nasty little stingers. Good to see you guys got some rain. Thanks for sharing, have a great one!
I have a goldenrod wire stretcher. They do not have a handle. Once with the wire tight I reached back for one more squeeze, leaned on it too much, it clicked loose & almost took off my thumb. I welded a 1/2 galv pipe (all I had) to the end for my left hand & sore thumb.
That was about 35 years ago & it is still in the golf cart tool box, ready to work. I like it now!
Thanks for another great video. It was interesting and enjoyable.
Lots of maintenance items going on today. Getting the mower ready with new blades. Yeah.
That drive thru gate went good for you Cole. That will be nice to have in that location. Good gate to have. Nice work Cole.
Back to ditch raking and baling again. Not the easiest but productive in terms of the bales you get. Good going guys.
Like that older tractor your dad picked up. Now the AC works. Yeah. Nice old unit yet and handy to get around in. Good.
About it I guess. Thanks for everything Sonne’s. Take care and be safe.
The Iowa Farm Boy. Steve.
Omg Brian, I love your song of the day picks! This pick sure got everyone talking. Lol. I love it! ❤❤. You are quite a music connoisseur!
You don’t realize how wonderful it is to watch you two work together as a team.
BRAIN - Just saw the recording of Red Right Hand, live in Copenhagen, immediately after Cole said to wait until the end of the video - LOL! Never heard the song before. It was awesome! It was a little slower than the 2011 remaster but it's still a very cool song and performance. This was one of your better song-of-the-day selections. Thanks
Brian, song of the day, “ Rich Man North of Richmond “ oh great song. Cole, the corn crop doesn’t look like the answer to our prayers we were looking for. But if we’ll turn to the Lord and from our wicked ways, HE WILL heal our land. I think that is in there somewhere. Correct me if I’m wrong.
Brian thanks for the song of the day. Really like the rhythm of the song and Nick Cove's voice. Been watching you for awhile now but this is the first song have looked into. Will be checking out more as you suggest them now. Best wishes, Deb
Hello guys Mr Brian you are a very special dad I really appreciate watching your wonderful videos and the way you get along with your amazing son Cole he very wonderful he really had learned everything from you that's what makes him a very special person the way you both get along when you are together it's just beautiful my dad was that way with all 8 of now it's me and 3 sisters alive and one brother alive the others has passed away but we were a very close family I really wish my parents were still alive it really sad when you lose your parents and brothers 2 brothers gone and 1gone 4 alive and I can see you are a very special and amazing father I pray you will be around your beautiful family for lots of years to come your wife is a very special mother Rosa I enjoy watching this video Rosa
sorry, couldn't wait. I put you on pause to listen to it! I recognized it right away. I worked in a party store and they played that at Halloween all the time. Gave me the creeps as soon as I heard the first couple of notes.
Those drive through gates for quads are an interesting concept. We are accustomed to “Texas Gates” for fields that have oil wells since oil company picks up the costs as well as does maintenance to clean out dirt that builds up as the tankers go in and out of the fields on the lease roads.
Maybe next year when you fertilize your corn and hay ground drive close to the fence and throw some fertilizer into the ditch! My son does that!!
I totally understand every time we start to do something on the farm we always have to fix something. I keep watching your so i’ll know 😂what to do on the farm
Love that song. Been on my Spotify playlist for a good long while.
Dan in Missouri take a torch and heat it and it will come right off no grinding. I have to do that almost every time I change blades, at least on a few . Love watching and love South Dakota haven’t been for a while but next time I come I might stop by if that’s ok . Thanks
Glad to see you finally getting experience with ditch hay. Believe it or not, I started out at age 3 driving the tractor in the ditch for the loose hay. Okay, it was a Model A John Deere with a hand clutch. Dad set me up and of course, Mom had a fit but, interestingly, I had the confidence to know I could do it. You are a year or two late.
Great job raking Cole
thanks
Stopped by Storla Station today on our way to the Black Hills from Aberdeen. Picked up a t-shirt and some snacks. Pretty dusty drive from US281 to there and back.
lol yep!
So glad for the puddles. God is great. Awesome video.
Afternoon, guys- Your song of the day came from the movie Scream, LOL. Song reminded me of David Kushner ( Daylight ). I'm glad you got some rain, need more. Yeah, I do agree with the lead bolt being to small. Thanks for sharing take care
Two wheel drive tractor is the best to learn in. I know you know how to operate Cole just saying. Great video have a great day.
Red Right Hand ....the perfect video to play when the kids are being bad. Does Brian wear the same "jammies " to bed as the old fella in the video?
Great times all around! Keep up the great work! Really nice looking new take off platform! When the new drone showing up?? 😁😁 Can't wait for the new flight time!!! 👍👍
I just love watching you two work together. Your father is so funny. I love his sense of humor. You follow in quite nicely when he talks. Keep the videos coming please.
Wow as much rain as y’all got you’ll probably be able to get a second cut on your ditch’s that’s awesome man
Brian, I paused this video to listen to Nick Cave sing Red right hand.......Cole don't fret, I came back to finish this video.........Thank you both for your videos........I watch and enjoy them daily....
I like when the camera is on the back of the rake the view. I'm glad you're doing that for the viewers. Cause that's hard on equipment. God bless
Thank God for the rain! Love your videos!
Why, you hit the lottery? Good come back Cole! LMAO!
Nice to see moisture
Maybe you need to get one of those fancy beehives so the bees can work in there instead of under your siding.
All you have to do is twist a knob once in awhile in the honey all drains out then you put it back in place and they fill it up for you again.
Always great seeing your videos
I just crossed South Dakota from central North Dakota on my way back to northern Colorado. There are millions of hay bales in the fields that look like they were not moved after first cutting and the grass is ready to be cut again. I see you guys fighting to make feed and it looks like others don't care about the feed that has been made. God Bless your hard work.
Re the deck - looks great, however I would recommend a picture frame on that. It's easy to do and will only require two more joists however since you are near finished it might be more difficult at this point. Good luck.
Great video Cole and Brian
Enjoyed watching the video Cole and Brian 😊
awsome video cole thumbs up and shared
Brian needs to listen to Rich men north of Richmond
Poor uncle Greg. Glad your getting this extra bales.
Who is uncle Greg?
Just thinking out loud, maybe install some sort of bar magnet at the outlet of the feeder to catch magnetic objects.
Dad got tired and the wallet got lose 😊
Glad to see some water made it to the farms.
Brian, I didnt picture you to listen to that type of music, (Red Right Hand). Definately different. Great channel, always looking forward for the next video.
im diverse!
Red Right Hand used in the TV Series Peaky Blinders. Very atmospheric, watch and listen.
Had to get updates on fires they are very close but we are in safe area still, even though it like living in a smoke mudge and has been for about a week or more .. here in salmon arm BC 🇨🇦
Great song!
I'd like to see more of the house projects that you're doing.
NO ONE cares..
Looks like a good start on the deck
Hello from Illinois, Brian I listened to the song of the day, Red right hand! Kinda different… but my mom always said variety is the spice of life.👍
Imagine my beautiful singing voice singing this you never get rich by raking a ditch but you can feed your freaking cow LOL🚜
Brian, an inspired song and video.👏👏👏 Oh, I couldn’t wait till the end of this video.😱
That nut on the mower. Just needed a little Brian muscle. Have a good one guys
Love the drive through gates ! Who makes them ?
Love your content! I'm a fellow cow calf farmer north of the border
Glad the ran should make yall have some decent beans.
Hello Brian, this is Lou from Apopka Florida.... watching the video and then you mentioned listening and seeing the video for Red Right Hant. I couldn't wrap my head around it. Not sure what you're getting down from Canada, but just couldn't get into it. ;-)
glad to see you got some rain
Hi Ellie! I’ve got some catching up to do..binge watching..do I start from where I left off r start here and go backards? Where’s the popcorn?
It looks so much greener than where I’ve been for the last few weeks and not as scorching hot! Thank God for the rain.
Nick Cave, what a weirdly wild-out guy! Wonder what he dreams about?
Looks like another beeeuuuutiiiful gate, Cole. Love the rake and the old weld holding it together. Thanks for sharing.
Now, let’s see what else I’ve missed…pray for the children.
Storla Station
The first time I heard 'Red Right Hand' was as a background to a later episode of "Pinky Blinders" the British Series. I liked it because it so summed up the actions of the lead character in the series.
Thank you Sonne farms
thanks
My late ex-wife was reading a book called Paradise Lost by Milton... I was listening to a mix tape (remember those?) that a former Navy buddy sent me from Australia. It had the Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds on it. My wife heard it and freaked out! "The MAN with the Red Right Hand is a reference to GOD and his sure judgement!" I told her at first I thought it was a western kind of thing, but the band was from Australia. We both enjoyed the song and the music. The lyrics almost seem to speak of "him" as the devil. The lyrics were written by Nick and the band.
Divine Vengeance in my interpretation, too.
hard working men!
Yay for your rain! That big grinder is a workout!
Red Right Hand is an amazing song that was in the Dumb and Dumber Movie... Great song of the day Brain.
Good job!
Hopefully you can get done with the ditches pretty soon. Your equipment is getting a bit dinged up. The extra hay will be a good thing.Take Care and Be safe on the farm Out
Love your song of the day Brian, I always throw some Nick Cave into my play lists and Red Right Hand is a great one.
Ditches be crazy!
true
Your mentioning the grasshoppers again got me to thinking about Sid Fleischmann's books about Josh McBroom & his Wonderful 1acre farm! Hilarious books, even more so if you read them aloud! At times, I'm laughing so hard I get choked up & can't speak for the tears squeezed out of my eyes!!!
I paused your video to go watch the song of the day because that's what you said not to do. Kind of a strange song, but I liked it.
I eventually came back later and finished watching your video. Also kind of strange but I liked it too.😉
lol
Brian, I just see Cillian Murphy walking through the fog heading to the Blinders office when I here this. Great song.
Really enjoy your videos.
Cole it's great that you have AC in the 4050 now. When are you going to install satellite antenna and auto-steer?!
hahaha
Ugh, we have yellow jackets living under our siding. They are mean! After spending about $50 on spray cans of wasp killer, we wised up and hired a professional to get rid of them for $75.
Seeing that metal in the feeder got me to wondering if hardware has ever been an issue on your farm?
Awww. Soon's Brian said Red Right Hand I opened a new tab; took a listen. Then you admonished me. C'mon.
Got a song for the day for Brian and Cole to listen to
Rich Men North of Richmond
Great video today
So jealous of the rain you got nothing here in Texas but record breaking 💯* days
I just found a clip, but could only listen to part of it. A bit too abrasive for this sensitive nurse to tolerate. Sorry.
Thanks for another awesome video Cole always fun to watch y’all 😊
Hay Cole if you will make your videos 1 hour I would love it . Your father taught you well what it means a day work.
BRIAN I RESPECT YOU MORE THAN MANY PEOLE WHO I KNOW.
thank you
