According to law you can take self driven rental cars to Ladakh but the ground situation keeps changing every year. Local taxi union may stop you and cause trouble.

You are correct.This scam was there in 2019.and happened in a different manner.A lone canadian was given permit with us ladies as proof that he was traveling with us. At the army check post we were asked if this was true. We said that we don't know him.The driver was severely reprimanded and the foreigner was put on a share cab and sent back to Leh.

To be on the safer site while booking permits choose all points given. The total fees only depend on the number of days you spend in Ladakh. In the case of Thang you only get permits till turtuk. From Turtuk to Thang in between there is an army checkpost where you will have to deposit your I card and collect while returning back.

Yes... Book permits from the list of points given on the permit booking website (which are going to come in route) Manali to Leh. To be on the safer side select all points as it won't affect the total fees you pay.

Koi problem nahi hai... Jis date ke beech aapne permit book karaya hai.. Un dates me se kabbhi bhi aap pahuch sakte hai
