Memorizing the bony landmarks will help to make your study of the skeletal system much easier. But what are bony landmarks? Bony landmarks are grooves or prominences found on bones, which help us to identify the location of other body structures, like muscles. Ever heard the words "process" "tubercle" or "condyle" used in anatomy? These all relate to bony landmarks. As with all anatomy, knowing Latin will go a long way to helping you remember these!
In this video, we walk you through the best way to memorize bony landmarks in more detail. You’ll learn about:
0:11 Why understanding bony landmarks is important
0:37 How to identify the location of a bony landmark by name
2:10 How to speed your memorization by learning key terms
2:44 Identification and meaning of “processes” in anatomy
3:04 Identification and meaning of “tuberosities” and “tubercles” in anatomy
3:48 Extra tips for memorizing bony landmarks
Want to test your knowledge on bony landmarks and the rest of the skeletal system? Take this quiz: khub.me/s1ccd
