I think it's laughable that Trevor tried to make it seem like Koloko and Castleton are on the same level. Koloko has completed on the NBA level. Castleton doesn't even dominate lesser competition.
Bold of you to assume that he will play on the same level as he did well over a year ago despite not being able to practice during the time since then, let alone against NBA-level competition. That being said, if he is able to perform at that level, he is an easy choice as the second or third-string center over Castleton.
@@hotice8885 Castleton is skilled. Problem is he lacks athleticism, needs to be stronger and not a good lateral moving big. And lakers have never tried him against real nba bigs to see if he has anything against them.

To me this means that Rui is not going to play back up “center” like coach wanted him to. Coach is being smart and getting a big man for rebounding and not banking on Rui help.
Rui Hachimura is a defensive liability at the Small Forward position because of his poor athleticism and foot speed on defense against Small Forwards & 2-Guards.
The prospect of a healthy Lonzo Ball teaming up in the backcourt with D’Angelo Russell is electrifying. Lonzo has demonstrated an exceptional ability to complement star players like LeBron James, and his improved three-point shooting adds a critical dimension to the offense. Imagine the versatility of a starting lineup featuring a lockdown defender who can also stretch the floor-Lonzo’s defensive prowess at the point of attack would be invaluable, creating chaos for opposing offenses while providing space for dynamic scoring. The synergy between Lonzo and D’Lo could unlock a fluid and engaging style of play, with both players capable of initiating the offense and seamlessly taking turns bringing the ball up the court. Such a partnership would not only enhance individual performances but also elevate the entire team's play. In contrast, players like Austin Reeves, while talented, are more replaceable within the broader landscape of the league. The potential acquisition of either Lonzo or Ben Simmons-a player with similar defensive capabilities-offers a transformative opportunity. By trading AR15 and some added resources, the team could secure a high-impact player whose skill set better fits the vision of a championship contender. The defensive tenacity and shooting range provided by either player would make a distinct difference, setting the stage for a formidable backcourt that could lead the team to new heights.

Which is when he should have Koloko and AD behind him to cover any mistakes. Plus if Christie proves he is the B+ defender that can hit open shoots guy he is promised then LeBron might still get away with guarding the other teams bad ballhandler or spot up shooter or non threat. This is probably only the gameplan for the first part of the season with the idea of upgrading from Koloko at the trade deadline or before.
