      It's true that English isn't her native language but from what I have gathered, a certain degree of English proficiency is so common among ID folks that it's similar to Sweden or Denmark where young people are likely to be as proficient in English as they are in their native language (if not even moreso).

      yupp, aru-san also probably didn't realize that he misspelled "good" as "god" in katakana.
      "ピザ イズ ゴッド" = pizza is god, but aru-san probably wanted to write "pizza is good" which is = "ピザ イズ グッド "
      ollie was more curious why aru-san was eating "god" but aru-san was more preoccupied with the 'eating' katakana = イチン 😂😂 aru-papa is very cuteee

      @@Andy-wk6hr no, it's common in Japanese slang to refer to something that is amazing or great as 神, god. He definitely intended to write God, he just didn't think about the fact that that same connotation or usage is not really used in English very much.

      @@soniquiuslink-lorddoubloon7946 Ah right... I'm speaking to Westerners who apply their own version of cultural standards and like pushing it on Asians...
      (In case it really isn't obvious, the joke here is despite saying 'no homo' to reassure someone that they aren't into them in "that way", they surely are. Wasn't meant to be funny, but ironic for the person saying it to hide their true intentions when the person isn't looking. Not sure where the whole homophobic stuff came to be when I never said anything. Are ya sure you insecure Westerners aren't just pushing your own insecurities on others? Like really, this ain't the first time it happened, and it's usually some folk that are either "part of LGBT", an "LGBT ally", or some other shtick. You're giving us a bad rep online, ya know? Balat-sibuyas talaga naman, eh~)

    • @jomo5800
      @jomo5800 3 роки тому

      @@soniquiuslink-lorddoubloon7946 Being bad if it were? Maybe for the one on the receiving end~ Seriously, you guys go on and say "don't assume someone's gender" yet are fine if someone says "no homo" to inform that the guy saying it isn't into them or the one receiving it isn't assumed they like it "that way"?
      As for whether the compliment is the main part or not. Yep, it is. Unfortunately, we have people here getting offended on behalf of other people instead. This is why people I meet IRL who are, like me, part of the LGBT are fun to be with compared to online ones... They don't nitpick nor make a mole out of an anthill. That said, "no hetero" would also make sense current year. After all, a gay person might compliment someone they know or don't know. It can either be a way for them to say that they don't swing that way, but will still say a compliment usually heard when romantically interested in someone. Or it can be used by a straight person who compliments someone of the opposite sex despite said someone being gay. Doesn't sound far-fetched, it displays the intent rather well, and so long as used in this context, it doesn't come off as "homophobic". What DOES sound "homophobic" is when someone tells someone to dress a certain way, talk like a certain way, or even act a certain way because they're gay. But that's another can of worms...
      Really though, you guys who are way too deep into Western political views change the rules for us within the LGBT community and those outside it... Heck, I'm afraid that if I don't make it clear that I swing a certain way, you'd assume I'm a "straight, white male" or something... Not saying you'd do that, of course. Otherwise we wouldn't be having this discussion.
      (If I'm not making much sense, lemme know. I've had a long day today, so sorry if the logic seems everywhere.)
