Great review on this Buick. So many things to like about it. But my favorite is the way the infotainment is integrated into the car, not stuck on almost as a after thought.
Looking forward to your review and test drive on the car you are building.

I agree 100% with you about the infotainment. I hate all the other vehicles out there that just look like they have a badly placed I-Pad.

I’m disabled and have a bad back and after using the horribly annoying COMAND system in the brutally uncomfortable “comfort” seats in an E63S, this Buick I test drove yesterday was incredibly comfortable and easy to operate, and I was impressed with acceleration on the highway. Obviously it wasn’t my E63 by a long shot, but the power delivery is pretty immediate. You’re not getting a lot of turbo lag. The fact that this is made in China doesn’t bother me. Most of the people who buy them are Chinese and having grown up in Vancouver, I trust their judgment in a comfortable luxury car more than someone who is obsessed with driving dynamics, especially if they’re over the age of 25.

Good review. I just bought a nearly identical Envision last Wednesday (minus the pin stripe). So far I really like it.

I just bought a 2024 Avenir model, and it does have blind spot monitoring. The car was built just we over 3 months ago

Great review. Hoping to get a 2023 Envision Avenir in Metallic Garnet with the same color interior as the one you test drove in a few days. Love it!

I looked at a 2023 Buick Envision Avenir, overall a really nice looking vehicle expect for the amount of interior shiny black dollar store plastic.

I had a question about the gear shift buttons. They're awfully close to where you would rest your arm. What would happen if you "accidentally" hit the reverse button going down the road at 60MPH? Would the car realize you probably made a mistake and override the action, or would you drop your transmission on the road?

There is a built in lock out feature to keep that from happening.

    Vehicles built on E2XX platform:
    2016-present Chevrolet Malibu
2017-2022 Opel/Vauxhall Insignia, Buick Regal 2018-present (since 2020 China only), Holden Commodore (ZB) 2018-2020
    2019-present Cadillac XT4
    2021-present Buick Envision
also sold in China, and USA sales were nearly canceled due to international politics. from far away it looks like a ford escape (a car almost half the price). to me a real buick is the blue-collar cars they made in the 90's with the awesome 3.8L.

I have to wait for the 2024 models to get blind spot monitoring, and some of the other features affected by the chip shortage here in Canada, so I'm building one late in the year, early next year. When you get a car like this, you want all the safety features.

  • @jeeprunnerpzzzz

Great review, really great looking vehicle. That interior is a bit too light for me??. Yes pinstripes seem to have disappeared over the years. Now if Buick can only solve it Granparents image, they would sell a ton of Buick SUVs. Perhaps they should build these in the USA 🇺🇸, instead of China??

I own an Envision ST and love it! Best car i have ever owned…as for China…if it was not for that market and being built there Buick would have died a decade ago. Unfortunately it is the only market keeping Buick alive.

I looked at this vehicle and I thought perhaps I wanted to buy it, but the gear shifter was the deal breaker for me. I didn't care for that one bit.

It’s a nice looking suv, but the pinstripes really date things. Very old school and not in a good way.

I have the 2022 in the same color, and it is a huge disappointment! The most problematic new vehicle I have ever owned. I had a 2011 Buick Lacrosse that was light years away in build quality. This vehicle is built in China, and unfortunately it shows. Multiple electrical and fit and finish issues. Just this week another issue, "SD Card Error", to go with several other issues. If you buy one, choose a dealer who is close by, and prepare to be taking it in for service a whole bunch.

I have no issues with mine and know a couple friends that have one and no problem... Lemon law applies to any brand man. Too bad you had to experience it

Mine is also great except I hate that there is a little buzzing sound from the sunroof control panel. They helped replace a new panel, but the little fan sound was still there. I learned to ignore it, and it's interesting that my friend doesn't notice much and it doesn't bother him at all. I might be just too sensitive lol.

I knew someone would make this comment. I don’t like that it is made in China, but they sell nearly four times the amount of Envisions in China as they do in the United States. Statistically speaking, the odds are pretty good that you are one among the millions of Americans who shop Amazon and purchase products that are not only made in China, but are produced and sold by Chinese companies.

With America's current lack of work ethic, I would probably boycott it if it was made in the US.
