I have skipped buying sealed boxes from a lot of sets this year and bought singles. I am also concerned about the price point. I am sure there will be even more price increases for 2025. The so called "Glow in the Dark"-Dice has only glowing numbers not glowing plastic. 2. The Lands are just the lands you get from collector packs anyways (I didn´t see anything about "exclusive" lands). 3. The 1 of 3 Promocards in the "nightmare booster" are worthless! It´s miles away from the 2out of 20 mythics (many very playable) in nerver seen before Oil treatment. I preordered this Bundle for 62,5€ (~70$) but I only payed 39,99€ for a Ixalan Gift Bundle (~45$) (incl. Taxes) so its 56% more expensive (22,5€) for + 1 collector booster but - 3 Play boosters compared to a normal Bundle. So if the Dice isn´t actually Glow in the Dark and the "Nightmare Booster" is a glorified foil land pack (Remember the Ixalan foil land pack hat a guaranteed foil Jurassic World card in it!!!) this will be just a overpriced Gift Bundle! (Compleated Bundle was 60€ Preorder and 80€ on release here just for reference) Best Case: 1. The Glow in the Dark dice is actually made from Glow in the Dark Plastic 2. The Lands are exclusive to the bundle and in a somewhat special treatment because nobody needs rainbowfoil lands. 3. at least one of the 3 possible Promocards is valuable and playable and at least a 10$ card (see "The one Ring") 4. The Nightmare Booster can contain a bundle exclusive super Secret Rare or Serialized card only obtainable in this Bundle. 5. The set rocks! - If this set is another Karlov Manor the value of the play and collector boosters will drop, so the Bundle will not be worth it. The best thing is: This Product will be released a month after Prerelease, someone may open it on YT weeks before official release. So IF the Set or the Bundle turns out to be a stinker I still have time to cancel my order. A case of this Bundle has to compare itself to a Playbooster+ a Collector Booster display exaclty and then we need to see if the extras are worth the difference. In Ixalan I saved 70€ buying 2 cases of gift Bundles compared to buying a Collector and 3 Set displays and had 6 additional Set booster. I missed out on 4 Boxtoppers but got 12 Foil Jurassic World cards. That was the best Price/Value I ever got from a MTG Product, so I might expect too much. If the preorder Prices rise over 100$ for this and the Set is just medium value many will be disappointed. We didn´t see a neon-foil Cavern of Souls yet, so let´s see what the previews bring. I´m not very impressed by this set yet and it clashes so hard with Bloomburrow (a set that has brought in younger players and was Family friendly) it hurts me physically that this is our Christmas set this year! AlsoI think it´s bad business decision to have those 2 sets back to back. Commandfest Frankfurt had 1/4-1/3 Female attendees parents got their kids Bloomburrow as their first MtG sets, my wife bought collector boosters but Wizards doesn´t know what customers they want... you can´t be the Family Friendly and the super edgy gory creepy Card game at the same time ... if they have the balls to reprint "Razor Pendulum" and focus on the Boomer customer Base ok, but I wan´t to play magic with my wife and kid and this set will have to stay hidden from them... how sad we opened Ixalan Gift Bundles under the Christmastree last year with my brother and had such a great time, this year we will not be able to repeat this wholesome experience : ( I think this Set would have a great place in a supplemental slot, not in Standard. But thats personal taste.
Its a good opportunity even wihtout a bundle exclusive Secret rare, which dosent exist, the nightmare only randomized promo cards will 100% be of value due to the scarcity, adn the issue of space cost adn inefficiency that comes with bundles.
@@cardboardlender I disagree on the 100%. while The one Ring is worth 70-80€ "Frodo, Sauron's Bane" from the same LotR Bundle is a 0,02€ Foil.... And while the Oil-Slick "Atraxa, Grand Unifier" is a 48,96€ card (cardmarket 7-day average, 357 cards offered, 27.08.2024 (Cardmarket is a very large European singles Marketplace with thousands of individual sellers and low fees)) the "Nissa, Ascended Animist" (only a 1in10 of the much rarer compleated Bundle) is just a 8€ card... and there are Nissa collectors out there. So I´m not sure the 1in3 of a double printrun Bundle will be a guarenteed desirable collectible. I hope they will hold a premium but for financial decisions I prefer preparing myself for the worst case and be positivly suprised over beeing disappointed.

When people judge the success of a set, everyone agrees it will go up, assuming the company continues its current trajectory, people just argue about the timing. example see homelands. took 25 years to 4x. so 5% growth, while looking at other sets have seen a 10x or 20x growth. So these examples listed are all in timeframes of less than 10 years, which I think we can both agree in a longer timeframe, these limited supply prints will retain value and make it profitable. but even in the short term, we dont really need to judge it based off the value of a single promo. Keep it sealed, and the probability is higher that it appreciates beyond cost basis is much higher, I think we both agree on that. I wont be opening the bundle personally. I would buy any individual part on the secondary market instead

@@cardboardlender now that the bonus cards of the Bundle are revealed, I´m much more positive about it! I think at least 10$ value with getting 2 out of 6 playable reprints, good chance to pull more. Love the Poster-Cards, I have all "Poster Secret Lairs" so I need all 3 of those. Happy to have gotten the Bundles early for ~69$ the prices are getting up to ~90$ already here.
I would buy this, I like horror stuff but have never liked newer designs for phyrexia so this is more up my alley. I noticed a lot of people didn't buy the oil slick bundle because they didn't want the phyrexia style. This will have more broad appeal
I think it could be a successful product but not meet expectations. From what I see in Canada I found some stores pre selling at 90 cdn which seems fair so I preordered some but most stores are jacked up to 130-150 cdn. So as long as my orders aren’t cancelled I’m going to be happy but at the jacked up price it might be a disappointment.
Returning player after 8 years, i want to support my LGS as much as possible especially because they are a "primer" store but when the bundle is $30 cheaper on amazon.... and every thing else is at least $5 cheaper. Now I'm willing to give them 5 extra dollars but that's it I'll take my chances with fake or damaged goods on amazon that i can return with out feeling bad.
Pretty sure the lands in the bundle are just the same full arts from the main set that we saw a month or so ago. So not much of a selling point imo. That said im. So hyped for this set! I locked in 2 Nightmare Bundles when they went up on Amazon ages ago. All the exclusive items sound awesome! The horror themes always get me hyped! Im hoping im not getting my hopes up on the poster cards.

Its failed already. The price has stalled at 77$ usd on Amazon, has no unique history behind the plane as opposed to New Phyrexia, and power level is low due to being a Standard set.
