- As the floods ravage parts of the country, we took to the skies earlier today for an aerial assessment of the situation. The Royal Media News Copter started its flight on the southern fringes of Nairobi where raging waters have forced residents out of their homes. it's a flight path that took us to the seven forks dams which as we witnessed have already started spilling over..
In spite of everything, the scenery is beautiful. Kenya my country lets us pray for ourselves.
The water was crystal clear
Thankyou citizen Tv. The effort is deeply appreciated
We need canals and pathways for all this rain. The water can be of great use in the drier seasons. Sadly even with such heavy rains many households cannot access clean water.
Excellent camera work
the rivers are reclaiming their land
the irony in all this is when we are back to the dry season city water will be rationed in both Nairobi and Kiambu.
Is it possible that some of this flooding in Nairobi is because the current county Government has permitted buildings to come up on riparian land? Thus blocking the natural flow of water through the lowest point of the ground and not cause flooding?
My thoughts exactly
The buildings have been there for many years before this government .
Do research .
@@ltspossible The current county Government has allowed reconstruction of buildings that were demolished by the previous county Government because they were on riparian land.
@@kenyareads6918 . These are rich people's problems.
As an individual investing in buying a home you are supposed to use common sense on where you are buying the house or a unit in apartment .
The developers are not using common sense and they don't care but as an individual living in such areas you should.
The Machakos County government doesn't care but as an individual buying such a house you should care.
Vry correct
Pole sana!
Praying for my country Kenya watching from KSA 🇸🇦

The most expensive city to live in East Africa now flooded
Same as Dubai 😊
kenya power are now having water
Iko wapi hii Mutu ya Auror and Kimwarer dam
Can you imagine how much water would have been collected by now had those dams been built!
mlipanda helicopter??? Brave journalism
How is it the government allows people to have farms that get to the riverbanks???
Extremely bad environmental protection. There should be a clear tree line along the river banks and farms should stop at least 50 feet away from them.
This’s how Kenya will end up irretrievably losing millions of acres of arable land as the top soil is washed away during the rainy season due to erosion.
Can we build dams and do irrigation next year its draught
No, this one would destroy even dams. And we can build new dams waiting for it. Its climate change- unpredictable.
Kenya can capitalize on flood tourism
What is wrong if the field is flooded
