Ahhh the game that the band green jello did the soundtrack for. Me and the vocalist from that band talk a bit from time to time and you would probably know a few of the members went and formed Tool
One of favorite games on SEGA Genesis, along with Comix Zone, Streets of Rage trilogy and TMNT Hyperstone Heist. Never beat this one tho. Too long, too difficult, always lost the final boss fight with Carnage.
I really like this game when I was a kid I mean I couldn't beat it while I was a kid so maybe it was because I was a kid I haven't played this since though
I wanted to like this game as a kid. Spider-man beat 'em up with Venom and Carnage? Should have been easy but the combat feels way off and the art style looks ameture at best. SEGA did a pretty good job with the Spider-Man arcade game in 1991. They should have tried toward something more like that.
There are a number of other moves you weren't doing, which adds some variety and makes it a bit funner, but that's understandable. Wouldn't really know about those without having the manual.
You also kept picking people up because you were walking into them. If you don't hold down the left or right while attacking, you'll usually avoid that.
@Tyrannicon Right. I did as well. Not arguing that, was just describing how the game behaves. Also would not make the argument this was a good game, especially compared to the likes of SoR2.
classic American quarter munching Beat Em Up design. Made impossibly hard with a lack of continuing directly so that you couldn't beat it in one rental and would force parents to buy it. Japanese rentals weren't a thing like here so we suffered with this American anti rental crap made games.
Cliffhanger style climbing here ahahah. I remember renting this game here and being bummed out I thought it was the coop one with all the symbiotes. Maximum carnage was a turd lol
i dont care whether im good at it. the problem is the crap graphics, lack of enemy variety and bg variety, crap controls, awful music. i could go on. go play final fight arcade or streets of rage then tell me this is good

Watch out, bud. He’s got radioactive blood!
Through out the late summer of 1994, I kept seeing Maximum Carnage and MK2 ads playing on a loop, every time I visited the local music / video store.

The SNES version sounds better imo. Either way, great game. 🙂
if this is great what is final fight and streets of rage? Masterpieces of art?
@@TyranniconI mean...yes. lol No one's saying this is better than Streets of Rage.
I remember beating this one on Super Nintendo great one❤
Maximum Carnage with Bennet Foddy 😂 9:56
I enjoyed this well enough as a rental at the time. Sprites were nice.
Bro said “oh my god” 73 times In this video. I counted

Another SEGA disasterpiece
One of the first games I ever got on Sega. Never got past level two.....
love this game when i was a child, always playing it with my big brother.
I really like this game when I was a kid I mean I couldn't beat it while I was a kid so maybe it was because I was a kid I haven't played this since though
This was my jam back in the day just because I loved Venom.

Key Music by Green Jelly in this Turkey. Maynard from Tool's old band.
What a turkey of a game. 😂
loved this as a kid
There is no dana only zool. Lmao
I still have this game on my Sega Genesis
For the Passion!
These enemies are just out of place... Like highschool punks or some $hit
It's because you're playing the Genesis version. Lol It's good, not as good as the games you listed, but it's good on it's own regard.
Yes megadrive. Yes rage.
The trouble you're having at about 9:45 is because you have to also hold up to clear the platform.

bad game mechanic. i grew up with walk down the streets and never accidentally pick ppl up in final fight, sor etc

Dude.. you low key suck on the climb stage lol. Other than that you're awesome 😂
i tend to suck on badly programmed crap
I loved this game
I think it's a fun game Lol.
if you think this game was fun you should play final fight. youll have an orgasm
@@Tyrannicon Im more of a streets of rage 2 guy.
YES!!!
This game is not terrible you just not good at it yet that's all keep practicing

@Tyrannicon the game is good nothing wrong with it
If this game is good what is streets of rage 2 then? the ultimate masterpiece of all time?
@@Tyrannicon both are good games
On sega this was trash!
lol what a crap game
This game gets really cheap towards the end! Oh the PASSION of the painfully shitty game 😅
To use other characters, you needed to find 'Super-Hero Icons" and call them in.
The first one you find is in the 'Time Square' level.
