5:48 I wouldn’t mind seeing a full commander pairing list so ppl can fully know their options so Zhuge/YSG, Amani/Hermann, Cyrus/Hermann, Boudica/Henry, Henry/Zhuge, Henry/Ashur.
Even if you don’t do it maybe someone will read this & make a full spreadsheet of all possible pairings

If you can get Zhuge, Hermann, Boudica, Ashur is all you need.
For older players like me, my 2 archer marches are Boudica/Zhuge, Amani/Hermann. Not the best but they get the job done.
Hermann makes any AOE Archer commander usable.
So Thutmose, Nebu, Cyrus, Amanitore, Zhuge, YSG, Ashur are your ideal pairings for Hermann
Zhuge basically pairs with all of the archers.
The weakest are Edward, Ramesses.

@@exoioz2827 they’re like the same age. Boudica is easier to access. You can get her heads from wheel. Henry you have to get him through MGE or get lucky in Legendary Tavern
He’s gonna be more expensive to get. The thing Henry has over Boudica is he’s not reliant on taking skill damage to activate one of his skills. Liu Che/Gorgo are the Anti-Boudica commanders. They don’t do skill damage so because of that 1 of Boudica’s skills (I think its the 3rd skill) is useless
If you are willing to probably putting 690 universals into Henry you can. His 3rd skill is only for rallying. Which makes him equal to Boudica against Liu

Even i know he is op only gorgo and lc or scipio lc is a counter to how tanky he is even then its not like its his kryptonite more like its a 10% nullification of Henry honestly henry and boudica can be seen as interchangable and be run iver each other in most cases especially if your lucky and get a 50 or 80 head mge it may be worth tossing in him over boudica for some people

Hello Omni! My marches are, Expertised Nev with 5515 Joan( 3 gold gear and rest are epics including accesories) 5511 Zhuge with 5511 Hermann( gears are all epics), 5511 Scipio P with 5511 Liu Che( all epic gears). What do you think should I do next? Thank you
Probably work on expertising Liu Che and get better gear for them! :)
I can field two archer marches, but I don't anymore. My experience is that they are first targeted in the field. Players want to eliminate the AOE threat quickly, so player psychology is a thing. My infantry are doing the best in 2024. Ty for the video.

In actual war and murdurball the damage and trades from gorgo/lie is much better that Liu/alex . Idk how this sheet is calculating the dmg output
i use 3inf/ 2cav / 2arch. Liu che/alex, guan,sargon, scipio/tariq, nev/joan, huo/will, zhuge/herman, and boudica/ash. It works very well for me so three inf could be viable depending on how you pair it.
You should make a video testing meta kvk1 and 2 commanders, sun trying sun tzu or Saladin and see how hard they fall off
Makes me wish I had a 2nd set of archer gear. Kind of surprised to see LC/Alex outperforming Gorgo/LC

Alex is great with LC, but I don't think its worth spending sculptures to max. Its only good for players who already have him expertise, but personally I will just get my Gorgo sculptures from the MGE and work with that, since you'll need less for exp her. + Shes great in garrisons and rallies so a little bonus

I’ve been saving up some (300+) legendary commander sculps, but don’t know where to put them now.. I have a 5551 Nevsky, but CC (5521, single relic) isn’t strong enough and not worth putting sculps into. Do I expertise Nevsky and still run CC, or do I put Joan towards 5551 (currently still 1111 and far from lvl 60).
Another option is to put Zhuge from 5111 to 5551 and run with a Hermann 5211 which I’ll then be working on!
Or option 3, get Scipio (lvl 50) from 5511 to 5551 and Liu Che (lvl 40) 5211 to whatever sculps is left!
Equipment is pretty decent for Nevsky and Zhuge, Scipio equi is not good..

I am a f2p cav player. My 5 troops are Huo&William, Jeanne&Nevsky, XY&Mehmed, Boudica&YSG and Scipio&Liu Che. What do you think that I should focus on next? Beli prime or zhuge or herman? (Note: I have 15% cav health city theme + germany civilization, so total 20% more stats and special units for my cavs. Therefore, I would like to keep my 3cav/1archer/1inf style)
Hey omniarch, I have watched a lot of your videos and like them a lot! It’s great content! I wonder if you could give me your thoughts on what I should invest in before my kvk3. I have like 550 golden sculptures and I can invest in expertise one SOC commander. I have thinking of Liu Che but I’m not sure if i should do that or split them between two commanders? I don’t have great secondary commander at this moment. No one from KVK2. I got like Pyrrhus 5511 and and a lot of epic. I also got expertised minamoto and aethelflaed expertised. Would love to know your thoughts on this .
Make Liu Che with Athel as secondary. Very good synergy because of Liu Che slow and 20% more damage from Athel when the enemy is slowed down is a thing

I was wondering about beli's expertise maybe its not like all the marches will deal 12% more damage individually it might be like for example if enemy is surrounded by 3 marches then it'll receive 6% total damage as 2% per march and so on.
This is assuming all your aoe is full hitting always right?
The biggest issue with this testing is that it isnt taking into account the fact that your softer armies damage output drops extremely fast as they lose health against a real enemy.
XY/William is really high in the cav list for example exactly because of this. Ask anyone who actually uses that march though; it might still get decent kills, but it is NOT trading well and the vast majority of players would never consider running it. Huo/William is MILES better in practice, though is a lot lower here due to having single target.
(Guan Scipio is in a similar, though less extreme, position. Guan just melts these days.)
PS: comparing this across troop types is more or less entirely worthless due to how huge a factor march speed is in real world field. Cav still outperform basically all non cav marches other than scipio/liu in the field in the hands of a player that knows what theyre doing purely off march speed advantage, they just have lower numbers on paper because of lower AOE.
4:22 - You said you paired it against the troop type they do worst against for ‘fairness’ but wouldn’t a commander that does extra damage against a specific troop type ‘i.e. Huo’s 5% bonus damage to archers’ and others, suffer as a result of this bias? Just wondering, sorry if this was explained and i missed it but I thought it worth bringing up.
The idea was simply to be as strict as possible with the results so as to not assume a march will perform much better in the sim as it would in-game

Not really, I tested after the video and it's in 9th place for infantry. Scipio, Alex, and Gorgo are all better pairs for LC
We need the best infantry commanders after new relics pls.. which one is now best pair for Liu Charles or Alex I'm confused 🤔
I am still learning. Why should I use Ottoman Empire or france when I am running Inf. Can't I use the Roman empire ?
Ottoman gives more skill damage.
France gives faster healing and infantry health.
I run Rome for the faster march speed helps in open field and the defense is nice . I also spend more so I don’t care about Frances healing. It’s ultimately France is great for F2P
Where as Rome is more niche players.
I just returned to the game after 2 years and the returning event lets me unlock anything so this is a massive help. I'm thinking of running cav#1 Nev/Joan(best gear 500gh needed), inf#1 Liu(Need to spend 700gh)/Alex), cav#2 XY/William(Will only 521 would need to spend GH to get to 5551), inf#2 Guan/Mehmed(next best equip) and lastly archer Ash(Needs 700gh)/YSG.
Trying to use ysg as he max already I could get Huo and max Scipio to ditch xy,mehmed but going to get very expensive for gold heads(have2000)...Other option is just run 4 marches, Nev/Joan, Liu/Alex, Huo/William, Guan/Scipio either way spends all my gold heads. Let me know what you think, cheers.

1 thing about dps on herman ashur is that ashur does 2500 to a single target after with the second part of 1st skill ading 1k to the main target so if the dummy is a 1v1 zhuge does 2k vs ashurs 2.5k and vs 5 zhuge will do more damage in field a 5 target circle almost always hits max enemies even if you march turnes away from a ball when using the skill also zhuge has univeral march speed and ho vs ashur with off territory defense and march speed maming zhuge just better in most cases in a qvq off territory ashur herman may win as we can easily say that ashurs exp will be used multiple times vs a skill cycle in a ball where he may not get any use from bonus stats

Depend on your equipment and armament. Hard to change if all those 5 march already full legend equipment. If not, then change your Xy/Mina and start saving for Liu Che or new Infa. Pair Liu Che with Alex or wait for the new Infa in 3-4 months.
Do you think gorgo can be good with other commander than liu che? I mean better than ok trade? 😅
Not really,you see when you pair an smite damage commander with another smite damage commander it gets really good for you.For example:Gorgo and Liu Che,which is currently in my opinion easily the best infantry march.They buff each other's active skill with their normal damage,making you deal lots of attack damage but also lots of smite damage.
So just get them.

Why didn't you test Sargon with Liu Che? It would make the most sense, with two infantry marches you'd pair Guan and Scipio, and then decide between Liu/Sargon or Liu/Alex. The extra basic attack proc from Liu has a lot of potential with Sargon, with a higher expected average damage if you can keep cycling the active skill
A video about the best marches for players that only play on phone would be nice I guess they would be the best lazy marches 😂

Personal opinion: they should make things like siege unit commanders and equipment, civilizations that have new siege unit troops, and basically siege armies instead of just archer, cavalry, and infantry.
I'm surprised Henry YSG was ghosted in your spreadsheet. As archer main, i ran it all kvk as my third archer march and it is quite good. Everything else looks really good. Thanks for the video.
That march didn't do so well for me. I'm in the same boat, it was my third march, and I have no crit gear on it yet, so I suspect that's why. My top two archer marches have full archer set, full crit. (Zhuge/Hermann, Boudica/Ashur)

Cool test and interesting video. You couldn't have tested the best special troop civ with each troop type? Anyways yeah this just proved again cavs are way behind in commanders. Yes march speed helps but the amount of damage collectively with aoe is far behind. Which is why cav mains are justified in being pissed and deserve better commanders.

Joan is support tree. She would be more tanky as primary when paired with a Nevsky. You lose a good amount of damage but Im sure you'll live longer

Since Belly prime and Eleanor are not in the game this is premature. Belly needs AOe so that is XY Joan or William pair. I doubt Belly last skill has no cool down or percentage to hit. As written u literally hit a target with 3 marches and Belly gives u 6 all damage forever. I have to see that for real before I buy it. But Belly is 1 target so a flag or fort would only be his use.

Works but the problem is that Sargon damage isn't instant and you need to stay on the target for 5 seconds to get the full skill dmg output from Sargon.

Excuse me, but what about Henry? Anyone who makes rankings like this completely ignores Henry even though he is one of the best open field commanders. This is because all major content creators have completely ignored him and know nothing about his strong performance Only the Archer Mains know his potential: support tree, march speed, massive nuke and an inconspicuous tankiness because of his enormous damage reduction that no other commander has.
Great list though
He's completely viable but not a top performer. No AoE, no debuff, conditional march speed... Very hard to compete with Ashurbanipal, Boudica, Hermann, or Zhuge Liang unfortunately. Even YSG outputs much more damage. I'm not saying he's bad, but he really shines as a rally leader.
