What a blessing to have this man living and teaching in our lifetime. We can say "we are all the same" and it is true and a direct experience for those who have realized this. Since very few have this direct experience, we probably need to take this into account. For example if we understand it, when need be we could further refine our language with the phrase "equality in essence and difference in function". We need carpenters etc but everyone can not be a carpenter. We need others to fulfill all kinds of functions besides carpentry, vocations both known and those yet to be known. If we understood that the essence of each person was the same as the essence we discover is our true nature we would see all jobs different and there would be a more equitable distribution of the great abundance and wealth. "The basic essential nature inherent in all people is clearly evident when you constantly perceive it within yourself" (Yuan-hsien) If you pursue objects believing they are separate from your essence, then your own essence becomes obscured; you get confused and are not awake." slightly adapted from Yuan-hsien (1618-1697)
