- Soon to be aired on TV5, Kanta Pilipinas will be TV5's biggest reality singing search that will call for the entire nation to sing. It's not a mere singing contest as it will delve deeper into the lives of each contestant. Kanta Pilipinas will transform the lives of these ordinary individuals to be the star that the entire Philippines will admire. The program includes a Cinderella-makeover segment that will further boost each contestants appeal and that will catapult them to singing sensation status.
Open to all Filipinos, 14-30 years old, Kanta Pilipinas will scour the whole country in a nationwide search. Applicants can be a solo, duo, or group act of any genre. The nationwide search will begin this the February. Stay tuned to TV5 for announcements.

The way Lea sings, she exposes the vulnerability of the songs, no weird runs just pure singing and that makes it very difficult for us who don't share the same pitch perfect singing as she does. One failed note would be very noticeable, and she's notorious worldwide for having a pitch perfect voice, Lea is a living legend! ❤️*

FYI: This was suppose to be a singing search TV show to be hosted by Lea Salonga on the Kapatid network TV5 since they‘ve making its rounds for their up coming shows but I think it was cancelled because Lea accepted the offer to be a coach of The Voice Philippines season 1 with the Kapamilya network ABS-CBN..
The show pushed through with Ryan Cayabyab, Lani Misalucha, and Rico Blanco as judges. Rico also served as the program host. Despite getting heavily promoted, it only ran for one season (eight weeks). I wonder how different things would have been for the show had Ms Lea played a bigger role in it.
Nasayangan ako sa Kanta Pilipinas. Theme song pa lang very promising. Can't blame Lea lang for doing The Voice.
