Guy at the store was wondering why I wanted to rent a constant light for my last shoot. I too shoot hybrid! Also, constant lights are more versatile like you said. I know strobes get brighter but I'll always be apt to use constant. Great video, thanks for the tips!
I'm not a hybrid shooter but been shooting constant lighting for years now. I'm glad to see it's finding an appeal even if it is with the hybrid community.
My last few shoots have all been done with constant LED light using the Stella Pro CLx10; Stella Pro Reflex-S and the Aputure Amaran 200D inside a softbox. I’m really happy with the results I’m getting.
I shot with constant first for a long time and when I finally upgraded to strobes the quality and detail you get with strobes seem to create far better images
@@Tommy4k I strongly disagree when it comes to high end commercial jobs you can’t shoot on constant. The sharpness and detail you get out of strobes are unmatched compared to constant light.
@@harpreetsinghphotography8783 well ive done it, and I have peers that have done it too for commercial jobs and magazine covers. all comes down to personal preference
Amazing content. As a newcomer to portait/posed photography, you have helped me tremendously. This is not a high school football game anymore. Would love to see a two-light constant lighting setup.
i would say the only con to constant lights when doing photos is of course the fact you have to have it plugged in vs a lot of strobes are all bbattery
Coooool! 🤩 I’ve always inclined towards constant light but felt like I was doing something “wrong” but it’s awesome to hear you break it down ✊ Thanks brother!!
This is clearly for a duel setup at a hefty price especially if you’re not going to film so I wouldn’t personally advise replacing strobes for that purpose. Those lights consume a lot of power, a lot of weight, and restricts shooting time on location if on batteries. Not disagreeing with what your saying just the wording of, “why you should use constant lights instead” I think whoever is leading the shoot should use the lights which benefits them the most unless unlike you said, if you’re doing both.
Thanks for the feedback, and you can recreate these setups with cheaper lights, I just used what equipment I had. I also know photographers who prefer shooting constant for the reasons being speed on set/no need for gels/ etc...
Those photos turned out great however you need a lot of power output to get a well light photo and thats where strobes are better and additional to that, in some cases cheaper than continous lights. I had a single 100w led studio light and it was not powerful enough to give me sharp and quality photos.
Cool settup.. Only issue I found is having the lamp in frame lighting subject while not looking like it's lit. Naturally the paper should be glowing from the light on the inside if the light is on since that is its modifier. It just make its look out of place IMO.
You did this effortlessly. I totally underestimated my strobe light, I for sure thought that I’d turn it on attach the snoot and be able to shoot getting the spotlight affect. For some reason when I shoot its extremely dark, I’ve played with the settings in my camera and all. Any tips on what I could be doing wrong?
Is there a high-quality lighting product that illuminates the entire space? It seems like in the videos, only spotlights are used. I'm looking for something that provides overall illumination. Could you translate this into English for me?
Can a snoot be used and get effective results with a lit studio? Do the lights always need to be off. I’m sure results are better that way. But would you say it can be done either way?
I have always shot with constant light, inside and out, but because I started off with videoshoots and stage lighting not flash photoshoots. So to me it seemed ass backwards to rely on a flash of bright light to light a scene, then have to sync it for every shoot. Nah not doing all that. Yea the model gets hotter with constant light but deal with it lol.
did you shoot on manual mode when you were using constant lights in the second setup of this video? and if so what were the settings? i have a 15-35mm but the zoom lens you have seems fitting for that type of shooting situation looks perfect too!

I gotta break out my CLX-10s. I have three of them but haven't really used them much.
Dope setup bro! Nanlite be killing it. for the most part i rock strobes because of the price of powerful constant lights.
Thank you fo the content and representing my country "KENYA" with your bracelet🙏
Awesome video
Listen bro! Nanlite is really rocking with the black creators as of late! Love what they doing! All my lights is now nanlite!
Had to switch over to Nanlite for the same reason!
Thanks Bro. Your video single handily made me made me transistion to constant lights. This video is such an inspiration. Thank You.
Glad I could help!
Really cool. Huge advantage to be able to switch between stills an video as well as having the same look and feel for motion and video :)
Definitely a plus!
That hold setup is on point. Perfectly placed. This something I need to add to my studio.

yeah definitely
Nice shit bro 🔥🔥🔥
Really amazing! Following 😊🎉
My flash broke and this helped cause I have a lot of constant lighting… It’s Saturday and BnH is not opening in NYC thank you bro
Glad it helped!
What were your camera settings for the second set ?
Coooool! 🤩 I’ve always inclined towards constant light but felt like I was doing something “wrong” but it’s awesome to hear you break it down ✊ Thanks brother!!

Dude, niiice…. I would not have thought your practical light would have worked with just ‘tape’ on iy
Would love to know some of your camera settings for some of these shots!
I agree. Please make a video on the settings you use or drop your low light camera settings in the comments for us please!
most of the shots were 1/125 f/2.8 ISO around 640 - 1250
@@Tommy4k thanks for that!
Thank you 🙏🏽👊🏼good job ,, wjlhat amers setting do you use for the one with the modifier please ?

My studio has natural light coming in... is there a way I can use my constant light of the circle with my flash?
I'm not sure, to answer that id need to see your setup

Dope AF!!!
Is there a high-quality lighting product that illuminates the entire space? It seems like in the videos, only spotlights are used. I'm looking for something that provides overall illumination. Could you translate this into English for me?
Yes In that case you would want a lantern modifier
Can a snoot be used and get effective results with a lit studio? Do the lights always need to be off. I’m sure results are better that way. But would you say it can be done either way?
yeah it can, but to get the effect to stand out the most, you want the room to be as dark as possible
🔥🔥🔥
Dope video bro!! I'm finally about buy a light. I'm stuck between an aputure light and the nanlite. They both seem good. Send help lol
im with nanlite all the way, great quality and price
Wonderful tutorial. I like the concept and I like the setup but can you comment on how you get rid of the harsh shadows?
Same principles.. fill lights, reflectors or surfaces to bounce on. Or if you have a Good camera and minimal gear, lightroom/photoshop
Great video
Thanks!
Amazing video 🙌🏾
Glad you liked it!!
