This film was such an experience, beautifully written. Love hearing each actor comment about this incredible experience they all went through. And really appreciated Ms. Streep's remarks about Sam Shepard, sorely missed in this discussion and in our lives, now. Thankfully his work lives on. The film had it all and a wonderful cast and director to bring it forward.
I dont care how old this is , i still love this movie . And somewhat feel lost at the end when the house goes from full to empty . And then kings of Leon plays 😢😓😏
So befuddled that no one asked how many times the cast had to retake the Dinner Scene because they couldn't keep a straight face during the Prayer. Was dying for someone to ask that question! I tried pretending I was one of the cast during the dinner prayer and it was profoundly difficult to try to keep a straight face. LOL
We never know the punches a person took to get to where they are now. We don’t know the severity. Some people can’t get up. Some people do remarkably well despite life’s punches.
Ive watched several of these Press Conferences on this movie, why are we hearing or seeing nothing of Sam Shepard ?? Am I missing something ? this conference is 2014 and Sam Shepard didnt pass until 2017. Its so obvious no one is speaking of him. He had such a small amount of screen time but such a huge presence.
See, at 9:48 she was asked a specific question about [basically] how she was to act out different [personalities, persay] within having to still be the same character at the same time.... Her reply made perfect sense to me. Per example, The Dinner Scene:: at some point before dinner she takes pills (and quite a few at that). The scene starts off without her, and then when she arrives on set, she has that marriage photo of her the Bev. She seems decently ok, but considering she ALWAYS has pulls in her system, she's really not. Let's just say she is just [the normal level of] influenced. Then, as you watch The Dinner Scene, she becomes more and more versatile and aggressive. By the end of the scene [as we all know], she is being wrestled down by Barb because she hit her limit and is BEYOND fubar. I understand, EXACTLY, what happened in The Dinner Scene because I recognize it in a few people I know. So when Meryl is speaking of how she had to go from one type of character to another...yet still is one specific character...it hit hard!! I can not imagine just how HARD that would be... It's like Leonardo DiCaprio is Basketball Diaries, except he got multiple takes in different scenes. Meryl did it in very few takes for ONE scene! Magnificent!!❤
Did you not watch this she said it was a very unpleasant experience making this movie. I think that's a very brave thing to say I can imagine being that miserable nasty and ugly everyday I don't know if you've seen the movie but she's vile. I'm sure it takes a toll and now she's going to think about it again, relive it and feel it so what the hell do you expect.
Oh my Goooood, this film is fabulous. Fabulous. Margo and Meryl are two lights that drive everything here!

This film highlights part of our outlook on humanity.
