Wow, a 94 for the Glenmorangie 19. If its anything like the Deanston 18 yr, than I would enjoy it. That's a great bottle flying under the radar. The standard Glenmorangie 18 yr I find ok. I still have the Signet unopened, hope that doesn't disappoint being the price point of $180.. Great review.

It’s not as rich as the 18, with more fresh fruit and citrusy vanilla. I love the Deanston but find after my initial infatuation with it I only want a half glass of its heady richness (plus to extend the life of the bottle haha)

Good review, Mark! I doubt that I will see this bottle as I'm not doing a lot of traveling these days, but it may creep into local liquor stores just like some others have done... I hope this is better than Deanston 18. I found Deanston 18 to be quite disappointing, and prefer their 12 year old expression.
I imagine it will. Did you get the brown boxed 18? I quite liked it. Deanston isn’t as complex but it makes it up in easy enjoyable sipping. Cheers my friend sorry this is late🥃🥃🥃🥃🥃
@@WhiskyWhistle My Deanston 18 came in a dark brown box... It took forever to open up and then it was nothing special. Donner Pass whisky had a very similar experience to the one I had. Maybe we both had the misfortune of getting bottles from the same subpar batch.

Nice review, Mark...very high rate, I'm surprised...but as it is travel retail not sure to see it some day on my shelves...When you speak about the 15 yo, do you mean the early 2000's 1990's Sauternes finish ? Cheers !
Thanks Greg! Its superb. Master of Malt had it, but right not easy to come by outside of travel retail. The standard 15 in the navy tube - “Rare Malt” - all ex bourbon with some virgin oak finishing. I so wish to try older Sauternes finishes or the Chateau dYquem one...

@@WhiskyWhistle i see, yeah the Sauternes I was talking about is the first historical Scottish Sauternes finish for a malt whisky...must be expensive now on secondary market...Nectar d'or is ok but nowhere near that old one....Cheers Mark !

Although I never buy whisky’s below 46%, I have an itch for a glenmorangie. Should I get this or the 18? They’re about the same if I order from the UK (around $120, better than the US where the 19 is $300)
They’re good choices and decent prices. If you want the full Glenmorangie profile I’d go for the 19 - all ex bourbon which it excels in; if you want a little red fruitiness then the 18! Both will be enjoyable. Another option is to look for Westport from indie bottlers. I bought a couple from Single Cask Nation that are superb and you get the strength we like.
Lastly you might be able to find Glenmorangie Astar which is NAS but 10 years plus or minus and a nice strength to it.
