Great demo! Disappointing that the controls aren’t more logically grouped together, e.g.: all pan for all heads on the same column, that sort of thing. More hunting for parameters, potentially a bit overwhelming for some.
Some pitch shifting would be nice. Supposedly, they improved it. How's the sound, polyphony, and tracking? Can you use it to replace Floyd Rose dive bombs, the Digitech whammy expression going up, for Brian May-like harmonies, etc.?
Creamy dreamy tones brother! Watching this a 7am with my morning coffee, and you never fail to drive me towards one of my axes by the time that coffee is finished 😁🤘👍🙏🎸love ya work!
Great stuff. How about a demo of setup and routing of an H90 in a regular mono tube amp live rig. Run dual mode to show effects in front of the amp and in the loop. Switching options in the pedal and with a switcher. Would be great.
Super awesome, Leon. I noticed around 5:27 when turning up the Rec Drive, it seems to affect the entire signal, not just the delay! Sort of like an overall overdrive. Unless I just can't tell in the video. Thoughts?
I believe so - it's probably because the old tape units it's emulating did the same thing. If you only want the delays to be driven you can route the algo in parallel.
Great video Leon - can you ping pong a single tape delay or were those always two separate delays (eliminating the option of having reverb along with it)? Thanks!
I purchased this unit got it all hooked up in my rig hooked up to the computer I will say that the fact that you can hook it up to your computer and control it through the computer is a very helpful tool but overall this pedal did not do it for me and I ended up selling it I was disappointed in it because I really thought it could add some cool sounds to my rig but for me and I'm not saying everyone is like me but for me it just didn't add enough to my rig for me to keep it.
Not a fan of how the software looks. Looks very dull. If they were going for a sleek look I think they totally missed it. Also very strange how the controls are divided up instead of grouping similar parameters for each head together. I hope they update the looks and mechanics of the app. Great video as always though!
No one's showing a H9 in the insert. Shame. I am not sure if I should buy a H90 right now, but if I were I would make my H9 and my DD-500 the stereo insert and go absolutely crazy with the effects.
Amazing as always friend! I have a question, can you run circular delays and panning delays on the two separate set of in/outs as if you had two PCM´s like Luke used to do? (so you can send the two stereo outs to the line mixer?)
This is why I don't dare get this thing. This is just one algorithm and it's already a rabbit hole. Add in all the other algorithms (plus the fact that it sounds gorgeous) and I'd get so deep in there I'd probably forget to eat.
Dammit quit tryna get me to buy the H90!!! (I'm just joking I don't really believe you're trying to do that). Wonderful tones and your playing is a blast to hear/watch
Counterpoint: there are sounds that are easy to dial in with the H90 that would be difficult or downright impossible with those other devices. There’s no way I could emulate the HarPeggiator with my HX Stomp. Trying to replicate TremoloVerb would take a big chunk of DSP, especially if I want to freeze the reverb as a pad. And the H90 Looper is just more interesting than the bog-standard post DL-4 loopers on those other devices. If the price point still bugs you, try thinking of it as two H9s + a three-loop stereo switcher + a MIDI controller.

@@LeonTodd My mistake. After trying it out today, the Rec Drive only affects the delay (wet). You rock dude!
Leon is at his best when he plays post-rock stuff... Dude, embrace it!

Oohhh, It sounds so Good. I can't wait to see all the Videos on all The Algorithms. But How about a Video on if the H90 was your only effect unit??
Any particular effect combos you'd like to hear?
@@LeonTodd 80’S GREASE!!!! And use the Synergy Gear!!
Some nice sounds there.
Love your H9 tutorials. Will you be doing this with the H90?
Yes indeed. Get your requests in!
Could you do a pitch shifting comparison? Between the drop, axe fx iii, H90 and possibly stomp? Those are my favorite pitch shifters.

Yes indeed!
Did you you loop the H90 into your Axe Fx using the input/output of input 3 (or 4)?
Yeah using in3/out3
is it a similar to eclipse vintage delay?
VD is based on old rack delays like the Roland SDE and Korg SDD. This is based on old tape echo machines.
omg, now I NEED ONE 😅

Can you demo the micro pitch and H910/949 algos??? Want to do the Van Halen swirl and hear what it sounds like
make videos like these for undulator and crystals!
Setzer would be proud👍👍
If this pedal is $900 then I hope they give us the option to bypass tails and use four algorithms at once. Helix allows you to do this.
Elephant in room - £1000 ! Sorry !
I can buy a second hand
Helix Rack
Quad Cortex
FM3
Price point is nuts ! ❤
comparing brand new to second hand is pepega iq. compare a second hand h90 price in 1 years time.
I can buy 25 used BOSS SD-1 at that price!
