Thank you for posting this. Always great to hear what Mary has to say. She is full of class and grace in all that she does. I still maintain that the way the JD chose to end the show was unnecessary and disrespectful to the brilliant cast and to the loyal fans.
I don't think I've ever hated an ending of a TV show as much as I did this. But I'm glad she got why people were upset (contrary to the guy who killed her off...).
I’m late to the show, but just watched the episode when Sharon dies. I can’t believe they did that to her character and to us. Also, of all the episodes of season 6, the story line of catching Stroh was so important and we didn’t even get to share that with Sharon. There was, at least for me, no real closure of this show. I’m just so upset about this and I feel so silly bc it’s not even real lmao
I've watched this over and over again. I am so glad you posted this. As a fan that was SO upset over the ending and felt so betrayed and used by the powers that be, it was good to see that Mary got it. Talking to her 2 weekends ago proved even more that she got it and feels our hurt.
... wow ... l was shocked to tears & it just broke my heart to find out that my favorite character on the show suddenly fell out from a heart attack !!! ... l just couldn't believe it ... l luv'd every one of the cast members on the show, but especially Ms. Mary Mc Donnell, because she was so beautifully cool as a cucumber ... l just get so attached !!! ... but thankfully all is well in real life ... & God bless u all ... I really enjoyed the series and the ending was a big shock especially your death. At least it's just a show and we can enjoy your work in the future I hope. Thank you for a great performance. Mary.
I was very upset when Sharon died at the end of the show. I still can’t watch the last few episodes.....in my mind Sharon and Andy go into old age together. It wasn’t fair to me, the fan, not to have the cast there on the last taping to say goodbye.
I wish I would have seen this video two months ago because I literally asked her this question in an elevator and would have asked something else. She's so amazing and I hate that she dies in everything she's in!
I have not filmed the whole thing because I wanted to take pictures. I have some small other vids that I may post later. I am almost sure some fans do have it all, so the whole Q/A may be posted at some point
Personally the character and the eay she portrayed it was robotic and monotone. When her character spoke her lines it seemed robotic as if memorized and by rote. Actually terrible acting. She was lucky she gas a great cast of characters around her that made the series with her in it bearable. Preferred Kyra Segdwick 1000%. Had more indepth character and showed more emotion and charisma in her line delivery than Marys' deadpan stoic robotic deliver.
I liked Kyra Sedgwick's performance a lot but I really loved that in Major Crimes the way the Sharon Raydor's character was built as well as Mary McDonnell's performance left enough room for us to see other characters (Rusty, Julio, Louie !!!) grow. I rewatched the Closer and I realised how much BL Johnson was brilliant but also how it's so much about her and how she uses people to get whatever she wants. I really appreciated that Major Crimes took another angle and that the cool (most of the times) but fierce Sharon was bringing something else to the team.
Whoever says that didn't really watch this show. I sincerely love the intelligent, calm, systematic captain of the criminal police, much more than the hysterical and eternally scattered Brenda. And Mary McDonnel has given some amazing acting in many cases, just watch the show.
Loved Major Crimes. Hated that it ended and especially that your character was killed off she was definitely my favorite ❤

Sad to see the show end. Enjoyed the series very much. Mary my favorite, how could they have you die? Your the best!
I just saw the closer and major crimes. Great shows. However, there was no need for Sharon’s death. It made no sense...
Always a pleasure to hear from you 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
She has such a great personality

Don’t be sorry you did a great job and made the show!
I hate the 6 season of MC. It ended after the wedding to me.

Couldn't bring myself to watch the last two episodes without her.

Two different characters and two different shows.
Each in their own way were essential to their shows
