Funny how Kevin always says he has nothing to do with everything his guys does but he never seems to get them to stop doing it. He never gets them to own up to their actions. To me he is as much a part of all of this as they are.
Exactly. Kevin is totally complicit in their crimes and other actions. He'd make a terrible leader in the end, because he compromises whatever principles he has if it suits him.
On one hand, I do think Luke's very focused on just a couple of things in the election. On the other, from what we know of Luke, if he were elected, he WOULD focus on things beyond just the GLBT campus community. Kevin is the one who is making this into a personal competition - If he wanted it to be 'best man wins' not only would he have turned Mark and the video of Allison over to the police, he would have issued a public apology for people representing his campaign releasing the video ofLuke.
Admittedly, he SHOULD go to the police and tell them the truth about what happened, and convince Ali to press charges. But Kevin didn't make Mark do anything. He should kick Mark off the campaign, or quit, but he didn't do anything wrong other than not go to the police about what Mark did. And, he did say that it was a good thing Casey got off, and got mad at Mark about it, so you can't fairly say that he doesn't feel bad about what mark did on his behalf. He should just do more than get mad.
OK, so I was reluctant at first, but I'm liking that Luke and Noah's story is being weaved into the other stories on here instead of their story being on its own "island". I want to see them involved with other major players on the show. Its hard to explain what I mean. This storyline is way better than that Ameera stuff.
I agree with PPD- This is why Noah said it wasn't worth it. That's the risk you take when you run for an office. There's got to be a winner and a loser. Um... wasn't everyone pissed when Bush won 2xs in a row? And how about McCain? He lost to Obama. Stuffing the box is a serious offense and Luke should've been thinking w/ his head. One of the reasons for this storyline, I think, was to show that it's very important for the gay community to form alliances and find common ground with others, in order to progress and reach people. Harvey Milk did that, and that's why he was so effective. Now, some of us, including well-meaning supporters on here, believe in blind defense of gay issues to the exclusion of all else. That's no better than some blacks refusing to find common ground with us.

I don't think they're suggesting that, I think they're trying to address the fact that because minorities are often persecuted it can lead them to become too defensive. It's another negative effect of prejudice.
