This has been a great series Baz, and I've binge-watched it over the past two days. I have recently cycled the back roads from Bluff to Nelson and earlier from Auckland to Wellington, and I made a point of checking out every waterway, river and drain we crossed or rode alongside. The results of this random sample especially in or near farming areas were mostly pretty depressing in what is supposed to be a clean green country.

Thanks Baz, yes Farming will have to change, but the need for change dated back to the early 1980's yes i know the options were not there then, but the leadership of the industry was just headed down one path the Fonterra path, thanks for sharing

If you go back to the time of Noah with the animals inside the ark, there is that understanding why they're still here today.

This part of the video shows the mother cow chasing her calf who is being taken away from her.

One more reason that dairy might be the most cruel type of animal agriculture.
One more reason to boycott animal products.

Why don't you ship off those calves to Uganda? We can take care of them and give them a long life.

How about this, stop drinking milk or eating dairy products?? Let's not forget that these products are not even good for you and are known carcinogens.
Whilst the first few episodes of this series were good, a lot of the discussion towards the end was simply greenwashing. The only solution is to drastically reduce our reliance on animal based products. Anything else is simply business as usual.

I agree. Going vegan is the single most effective way for each of us to minimize our environmental footprint.
"According to the most comprehensive analysis of farming’s impact on the planet, plant-based food is most effective at combatting climate change. Oxford University researcher Joseph Poore, who led the study, said adopting a vegan diet is “the single biggest way to reduce your impact on planet Earth.”
“A vegan diet is probably the single biggest way to reduce your impact on planet Earth, not just greenhouse gases, but global acidification, eutrophication, land use and water use.”.
“It is far bigger than cutting down on your flights or buying an electric car,” he explained, which would only reduce greenhouse gas emissions."-Joseph Poore, Environmental Science Researcher, University of Oxford.
Joseph Poore switched to a plant based diet after seeing the results of the study.
