Sir, the opening flyby sequence was nothing short of spectacular. The aerial sequences were so reminiscent of some of the major blockbuster movies of WW1. It took me back to the days when my late Dad got his wings in the Tiger Moth. This whole video was thoroughly well done and the dark clouds against the background in some of your shots just added to the ambience of the scenery. In my humble opinion, this is by far the best video you have done!!! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👍🏼

@@vintagesimulations I've not flown from that airport, I'll have to give it a try. Also, I think I'm going to get this plane especially seeing it also has a float variant.
@@GulfCoastTim Forwood Farm is available on its own, but it's also included in the Got Friends Wilga package. That's another plane I can highly recommend. The Fox Moth isn't a super complex airplane, but its great for low and slow sightseeing trips or it can also be fun for a bit of light aerobatics. I'm looking forward to your Fox Moth shorts =)
@@vintagesimulations Oh good to know, that's another plane on my list I don't own, the Wilga. The simplicity is part of the beauty of that Fox Moth. It's for times when I want a jump in and go plane without a lot of fuss. I do also like complicated planes at times, but other times I want a jump in a go. Much like how I feel about the SeaRey, hop in and fly out to the Great Barrier Reef without a lot of planning. Then, knowing I am confident I can get a good landing with ease 😄
@@GulfCoastTim That is true, I also enjoy simple aircraft, like the Piper L-4, Pa-11 or the Stearman. Especially for short 15-20 min flights, for a bit of sight seeing or aerobatics.
I really wish FlightReplicas would learn to apply better quality textures. Their work is freeware level and they need to step it up. Those textures would be fine in FS2004 and FSX, but they continue to pump out products with subpar quality textures and people still buy them, but a lot more would buy them if they’d do a better job.
Sorry, but I don't agree on that. I really like the textures of the Fox Moth and P-40, they might not be at Carenado’s level, but in my opinion, they still look great, definitely not freeware level. Keep in mind that the quality of the video is not quite as good as the in-game graphics. I think where they could improve on is the systems depth and the sounds.
It might not be the most complex or polished payware aircraft out there, but the visual model and textures are great, it's a unique historic design and most importantly it's fun to fly. I'm very happy I bought it and to me it's certainly not freeware level.
it is not a bad addon, but I just wish it was more refined for such a wonderful aircraft. A bit weird in the crash detection, the modified version has no engine sound, the pilot switch often not working.. so many small issues add up, but at least the flying is more or less OK
That's true. The issues with the sound in the modified version, the crash detection and a few other things have already been fixed and should hopefully be available within the next 1-2 weeks. I really like Flight Replicas addons, I just wish they had a bit more systems depth and custom sound, then they would be perfect.
I got it on Xbox series X The console users don't have these panoramic fly by views to watch the landings and take offs.It's a shame realy.The take off is difficult in this plane.Have to carefully pull up the plane otherwise it's veer off to the left and crash.Also when watching the plane in drone cam while parked the pilot dissapeared when the cam is to close.Other than that is fine,love the old airplanes.
For the panoramic views I use the showcase camera and fix the camera positions before I start the flight/replay, they aren't presets. They might be available for the Xbox too, but I'm not sure about that🤔 It's true, fully loaded the takeoff can become a bit dicey. The best thing to do is to keep it in ground effect and let it build up speed and then slowly start the climb. If you remove the cargo/passengers like in this video, the takeoff becomes much easier and the aircraft feels a lot sportier.
