well I love the game but it has much shitty writing for a game that was produced for 4 years. for example shooting androids in the club. you have the good option and the bad option.

I think it's because it isn't as challenging as other games like call of duty and such where you have to do all the shooting, running, etc. But yeah this is honestly a great game because it's unique and actually has a well written story where the player decides what to do

That does not make any work flawless, however. Especially in this case with games. David Cage's games have been quite flawed in the past. We'll see how this one turns out.
I always take a huge amount of time to explore a games environment and look at all the small details of the developers hard work. Recently been finding a lot of effort in the small details in far cry 5 and AC Origins. Can't wait to get immersed in Read Dead 2!

+Tybear *Spoilers for those who haven't played the game* I think the only thing that bothered me was how Alice's plot twist was carried out. I understand that her program requires her to mimic a human child as closely as possible and as we see with Markus, they are able to heat themselves up and such, which would allow her to simulate a fever. But what bothers me and what I consider a tiny plot hole is how she never tells Kara that she's an Android. It's obvious that Kara thinks Alice is a human, so I just find it weird for Alice to play along. Plus, is her playing along a sign of her just being a machine, or is it a sign that she's a deviant and how are those two distinguished in an Android that has emotions and such as a key requirement to actually simulate the role of a daughter? It's not a big deal, I was still surprised with the twist and liked it. I just think maybe the game went a bit too far trying to convince us that she's a human with her being rather shy with the "new" Kara at first and such. I just don't see how her interaction with Kara while they're alone would require her to pretend to be human, especially if she's a deviant and able to break her programming. So it's as if she's both a deviant and a regular Android in that she exhibits deviant behavior when she cries, goes up to the Android at Rose's house who lost his partner or when she feels bad for Luther if he dies. Yet she also seems like a regular Android because she doesn't break her human cover, doesn't deactivate her own heat sensor etc. which would be considered as deviating from her original purpose/function.
I really admire how the game feels alive. To the characters up to the surroundings. Also, the fact that how you play really determines on how it will end. My goodness!!! This game is really amazing!
Connor' has such a pretty face , same as 'kara' they are both beautiful as charavters and in real life . (Would marry both If I could) But there are a lot very pretty and interesting faces in the game
I remember first finding out the game characters were made to look after the actors, I saw Bryan Dechart and his fiancé Amelia playing Dbh and I was just freaking out completely, it was amazing and creepy as hell at the same time. I absolutely adore this game and the amount of work that went into this game is just...wow. I'm so impressed, thank you to everyone for making this game.
I think it's simpler than that. They put censors on the actors' faces for all speech. So you literally are watching them a bit computerized. It'd be harder not to make them look like the actors. I just wish that L.A. Noir was made a bit later too, so this quality mo cap was done there also. Or that they'd just release another pure mystery type game. This one is great as is though.
@@dodesskiy1 Hey about the motion tracking. It only tracks the movements. Then the character needs to be made, detailed en rigged. After it being modeled they can rig it towards the face movement. A lot of people think motion capture is really easy.
Don't know, all I've heard is that it was just a tech demo for PS3 (The animation was runned in ps3 and was not just recorded) then people loved it and david cage made it into a game

The realism/look of the game most certainly adds to the plot and experience of playing since you can't help but relate to such humanlike characters. Really brings it home in terms of the story

when playing, you could tell right away the attention to detail and thought behind every piece of the scene, from the incredible graphics, facial expressions, textures, dialog, voice acting, angles, everything was so well executed which really immersed you in the plot and message this game has delivered. applause to every one involved in this project

I just played this game today in 2024. I really wanted to play this game since I was 12 in 2018. But even after 6 years, the game graphics and playstyle are still amazing today.
I suppose I can't disagree with that, although I would argue not every game he directed was a masterpiece. Heavy Rain for me had far too many plot holes, bad writing and directing so I didn't enjoy it at all. But Beyond and Detroit vastly improved on that.
Alex Atkin Beyond was trash tho. Unlikable characers, nonsensical plot, way too many creepy/flat out rape scenes, cultural inaccuracies, and that ending (both of them actually) was atrocious. Heavy Rain was enjoyably corny and mediocre, while Beyond was an insulting, droning mess of narrative. And let's not even discuss Cage's odd fascination with Ellen Page.
When I think about that I am drawing digital since 2 years and I am now able to draw kinda photorealism and I need between 22-48 hours for one picture..... and I look at this... I feel like .......OMG HOW IS THAT ALL POSSIBLE. I reaaaaaaaaaaaally loved the game. And the work was definetly worth it. I loved the details, the emotional parts etc. (I love conor XD) Could it be that they took Jeremy Meeks as a model for Markus?

When Bryan (Connors actor) played the game for himself, it was kind of weird to see “Connor” play Connor. Seeing the thumbnail, I thought it was fake for a second. Then it shows a little about how the animation worked and how they got the scenes for the game. How the actors acted the scenes out before they got edited. Since I had no clue how to make that kind of stuff, I was really surprised too😂

When I was a kid, all I wanted to do was work for Quantic Dream. Heavy rain is still my favourite game ever, and even though I am now studying for medicine, seeing things like this makes me remember my love for video games and their ability to story tell. Just incredible.

coming back to this video, especially after five years, it still sits in my mind as one of, if not, the greatest game i may have ever played. ever. i loved every aspect of this game. this entire game just made me so happy. it had the cinematic, movie-like aspects, along with the difficulty of the game mechanics, as well as the ability to see that the entire game is motion tracked, just makes me so flabbergasted and mind blown. i love games like this, as these types of games prove the dedication and commitment of the people involved. i love every single thing in this game. every chapter, every outcome, every action, every single thing. in my opinion, this is the greatest game ever made. when my family managed to get the new playstation 5, and i downloaded this game, it still looked like it was brand new. every aspect of this game just gives me chills, makes me tear up, makes me angry, conflicted, indifferent, every emotion you could feel. there’s not one thing i dislike about this game. not one thing in this game is poor.
I think out of many recent ones you'd love the hell out of L.A. Noir. This game is 50% Shenmue, 50% L.A. Noir. The story is almost Azimov's series expanded too. Especially Robots and Empire.
The game was so well done. I swear, I loved watching Jacksepticeye play it. (I even saw the characters as real people, not actors playing parts in a game)

games like this and last of us provide great evidence that video games can be wonderful vehicles to tell stories that can really touch the human element. congrats to the team. they made one hell of a game but more importantly a story.

I suppose I can't disagree with that, although I would argue not every game he directed was a masterpiece. Heavy Rain for me had far too many plot holes, bad writing and directing so I didn't enjoy it at all. But Beyond and Detroit vastly improved on that.

Beyond was trash tho. Unlikable characers, nonsensical plot, way too many creepy/flat out rape scenes, cultural inaccuracies, and that ending (both of them actually) was atrocious. Heavy Rain was enjoyably corny and mediocre, while Beyond was an insulting, droning mess of narrative. And let's not even discuss Cage's odd fascination with Ellen Page.

I think it depends on what you draw and how detailed the sketch, color base sketch and the final lineart is. (I just talk for me)

When Bryan (Connors actor) played the game for himself, it was kind of weird to see “Connor” play Connor. Seeing the thumbnail, I thought it was fake for a second. Then it shows a little about how the animation worked and how they got the scenes for the game. How the actors acted the scenes out before they got edited. Since I had no clue how to make that kind of stuff, I was really surprised too😂

When I was a kid, all I wanted to do was work for Quantic Dream. Heavy rain is still my favourite game ever, and even though I am now studying for medicine, seeing things like this makes me remember my love for video games and their ability to story tell. Just incredible.

The amount of work gone into this is INSANE! I'm so proud of the team at Quantic Dream and the actors, you've done a brilliant job
coming back to this video, especially after five years, it still sits in my mind as one of, if not, the greatest game i may have ever played. ever. i loved every aspect of this game. this entire game just made me so happy. it had the cinematic, movie-like aspects, along with the difficulty of the game mechanics, as well as the ability to see that the entire game is motion tracked, just makes me so flabbergasted and mind blown. i love games like this, as these types of games prove the dedication and commitment of the people involved. i love every single thing in this game. every chapter, every outcome, every action, every single thing.
in my opinion, this is the greatest game ever made. when my family managed to get the new playstation 5, and i downloaded this game, it still looked like it was brand new. every aspect of this game just gives me chills, makes me tear up, makes me angry, conflicted, indifferent, every emotion you could feel. there’s not one thing i dislike about this game. not one thing in this game is poor.
