    Question for you: Are you curious about this speaker? Would you like to listen to a multi-array speaker?
    One thing I forgot to mention, the wall of sound characteristic is great for creating atmosphere, so that is why I say it is good for movies.

    Do you want to test the XTZ 99.36 too? They are great.
    I dont dont think that the M8 are lacking clarity in the mids but they are extremely direct. In movies you hear the charakter of the different voices perfectly with the m8. Movie Sound is 70% voice and 30% effect so mids are important. M8 has great mids but they are rather too clear than too less clear

    • @HomeCinemaJunkie
      @HomeCinemaJunkie Рік тому +2

      Yes, I agree. I had a Arendal 1723 center before which is known for the clarity. I feel that voices are more clear with my M8 center and I think it is due to the 3-way design compared to the 2-way design on the Arendals.

    Just so you’re aware Thomas. A D’Appolito array is a very specific type of a MTM speaker. And to be honest from what I understand about it. I find it hard to believe this fits all those subsets. But that’s not the point.
    Point is. It’s a design that uses an odd order crossover along with very specific driver spacing/arrangement to control the polar pattern. Which is how this speaker is designed also (to control polar pattern I mean).
    So I think that’s why they called it one, despite it maybe not technically being one. But I’m not Henry Kloss, Andrew Jones, or Joseph D’Appolito either for that matter. ✌️

      @@ThomasAndStereo I’m not necessarily saying you are. I’m just saying that’s what I read. I did a lot of research into speaker designs, and such when I was into car stereo. As that’s basically like building everything from scratch. And involves a lot more things, like DSP for instance, then just plugging in an amp and speakers.
      But I still can’t claim to be very well informed on the subject. I would leave that right vs wrong argument for a real speaker designer. I just like to spread the knowledge around. I mean hey, if everyone can spread lies around nowadays. Why can’t I spread around some facts right?
      Either way. Love the video as always Thomas. Hope all is well in your world my friend. ✌️

    I wonder which of the tweeters is acting as the tweeter? The remaining 5 tweeters are then not symmetrical - the advantage of the Tekton design, is the ring of tweeters are covering the midrange, and they are symmetrical, so they act as a coaxial speaker. This XTZ is going to have some lobing and/or comb filtering, I would think.

    Not a real comparison to Tekton if you look at price. What the M8 has to offer at $3500 you’re at the performance level of Tekton’s $2000-$2500 range speakers.
