I always reminisce to my middle school jazz band class where we played this song. So many good memories back in middle school ;-;
That sax part at the beginning is so clean
Always my favorite Chicago song. What an arrangement. Terry Kath is par excellence in the original.
Perfect to use TROMBONES for the melody in the beginning! They most closely match the bluesy, gravelly voice of Terry Kath, who sang the original.
Lots of fun, got to play it in a small group my sophomore year in highschool
this is insane… i love it!!
Wow, this is very good. Definitely didn't expect such a great song when reading the title. I love it!
Go back to the original album and listen to the whole album side. I've heard them do the whole album live.
I was wondering who the arranger was because I needed the sheet music for piano. High school memories. So many memories.
Fantastic arrangement.
Great arrangement!
I like this first time I have heard this , very upbeat.😊
This made me smile 😂
now i've got some sheet music to play along with on my trumpet. thanks!
Greater Victoria Big Band-Canada- We love playing this chart. Extremely well written
Very fun piece. I am playing the bari part in my College jazz band
I get the guitar solo for my high school jazz band can’t wait😂😂
Wow that guitar solo goes hard
Nice song 😀
As a mediocre high school bassist this is really tough for me
Makes you really appreciate how Peter Cetera played bass on the original!
Well written - would of like to see how it ended - i know how Chicago did it - but i hate when they don't give you the ending - cut the solos out if necessary. JMO.
The ending is pretty much just like the Chicago ending. Sounds pretty cool.
@@CubCadetMan71 Does it include the extended galloping, Spanish style horns fanfare found on the original album version? That’s the best part of the song!
I’ve never heard it not fade out haha
This song makes me think back to the times I used to smile. Before I came home from 'Nam. We were surrounded by charlies one day right outside of Ho Chi Min. It was me and my brother Tom, armed with nothing but a toothbrush against an entire platoon of viet kong comandos.
I made it out, but Tom wasn't so lucky. Sometime I wake up screaming thinking that I'm back in the jungles. In my fleeting moments of sanity, I still think that I am there.
Merry Christmas 1988 to Gretchen and family.
I'm tryna find the full version, where is it?
Russell Dixon I know right? It's nowhere... It's a shame cuz it'd be so cool to play
Been thinking of just writing an arrangement for my HS band
Terrible arrangement, the tenor solo in the beginning has to go.
Played this yesterday 😁
That's an absolutely beautiful arrangement. Great tenor solo at the beginning and superb trombone soli on the melody
