the pH of Crystal Wash is 2.4, so its a fairly strong acid. Most coatings will start degrade at around pH 3 to 2. Most PPF can typically tolerate down to pH 4 to 3. So I wouldn't use on PPF nor coatings, perhaps on coating if diluted 10:1 and PPF diluted 100:1.
Jamie, can we get a video on the P&S Crystal wash and how you use it? There is limited to nothing online or on UA-cam about it. It's almost a hidden jewel if it does what I think it should.
Yes please! I ordered some and waiting for shipment. P&S Hayward is a 30 min drive from me - so I’m going to try and reserve a position for the detail class on Dec. 4th. I’ll meet you then hopefully!
I mostly get heavy contaminated vehicles. In my area, we have tons of manufacturing, a sea port, and several large rail yards all creating lots of various contamination. The claying process is taking up a ton of time and probably costing me money in my details. If I use crystal wash as my pre wash and iron buster as my decon, what's your recommended p&s soap for foaming and bucket use? I currently use pearl and it's not enough. This is for my clients initial wash or uncoated client's cars. Once coated, I am having no issues.
Wish u weren't so far from me, my white truck sits 4-6 days a week in a chemical refinery 200 yards from a flare stack and a railroad that gets used daily 😅
That rear hatch would have likely showed up more iron from that zone. I know the hood is so much easier to video but taller vehicles get more on the sides and rear. But you know that already but do appreciate your testing it out!
Should have just sprayed all three at the same time so it would been more equal result instead of wiping the last 2 down with a wash mitt before the last 2 iron removers
Crystal Wash is a pre treat contamination remover…the other 2 were traditional iron removers which usually recommend washing the vehicle first for maximum effectiveness so he was just using the products as the directions call for
Does Crystal Wash unclog coatings like water spot remover? Seemed to do a bit here. Could be a gentler substitute for that function. The oxalic acid in Crystal Wash is less nasty than some of the water spot removers.
Thanks! After I spray on the crystal wash, and let it dwell…can I foam the entire car with slightly alkaline foam? (KC Active Foam). This way I don’t have to rinse twice
Nice review Jamie! Excited for the podcast tomorrow 🙌
Thanks for using DIY Detail
Checking in brother
I used the stoner and it stained my driveway as well. I was able to use my pressure washer to wash it off
Is crystal wash safe for coatings and PPF?
The SUV in the video is ceramic coated.
@@aldaley3537 understood but coatings generally have an safe acidity/alkalinity working range. I don’t see anything listed for that

Works very well on good ceramic coatings 👍🧼

Great approach to the test! Mud buster looking good man!!

Great demo Jamie. I'd like to see a more in depth video of Mud Buster and Crystal Wash
You got it 💪🧼
What is the famous mud buster? Another mixup?
@@jcrepus it’s a P&S product in the Off Road Line and very powerful pretreatment
I don't recall the last time a Stoner did anything good for me. 👀 They do clean my windows like a champ! Need to test more stuff.
Can't wait for the vid on mud buster...that was awesome to see it in action 👏🏽
Yes please do a video on mudbuster. It looks like it's eats through bugs no problem!

Where can I buy Mud Buster? Or is it a mix or concoction you formulated 😂
O it’s an official product 🤣 psdetailproducts.com/products/mud-buster-general-purpose-cleaner promo: JAMIE10 to save some change
I'm torn betwwen buying a gallon of TW Iron Decon or P&S Iron Buster???
Both are good 👍
@@JamieTheCleaner how did I know you would say that?! 🤣 Not that I disagree.
Looking forward to upcoming Cleaner Cast! Should be your most watched one yet!
Dope test Jamie

Try out detail studio iron out don’t have that stinky smell

Very true! Should have done a quick test on the back!
Excellent video! Careful cause it'll stain your concrete, trim, your face and your credit score
Just for Eddie shoutout to stained cheeks
Another great video from Jamie The Cleaner. Did you use P&S Mud Buster at full strength?
4-1 dilution 👍

Correct it’s certainly not as strong but definitely helps unclog the coatings 👍🧼
Yessir a new video 🔥
Jamie, do you have any experience with Turtle Wax Hybrid Soluntions Rapud Decon?
Yeah good iron remover 👍
I just opened a gallon of Stoners about 5 minutes before i watched the video 😮
You can still try to return it. It's a defective product that I'm sure Stainer's will recall.
Can Crystal Wash be used instead of an iron remover for paint decon before polishing and ceramic coating?
Correct 👍 🧼
Should you dilute the P&S Crystal Wash?
@@G_G_Gaming. no
U should of hit that hood with some water spot remover to see if we could see some bead action since u did coat it two years ago..
Yeah I did off camera after the wash still pretty dead 🧼👍
@@JamieTheCleaner damn, ok. Thx for the reply!!
👌🏻
Great video
Could you foam mud buster over crystal wash and then do the 1st rinse?
Yes 👍
Thanks Jamie! I’ll try that this winter as I live in the Northeast and they use 10x more road salt than needed 😂….
Slow reaction time, no stinky smell. Easy to see that stoners product is for the dogs.
In this one it had a similar reaction time but yeah others reviews it’s way slower so not sure 🤔

Yep 👍 once crystallized it has done it job just carry on as normal
