40mm is the best really as it's NATO standard. 3M etc use specific filters like Printer companies try and make specific ink cartridges. So they can make more money.

Yeah spray them with sanitiser before taking them off, put them in the washing machine and then wash your hands and face thoroughly before putting any new clothes on.
Sir, i own an old czech NBC suit from the 80's. It came in its original box and and has never been used. It is made of thick plastic, do you think it would be effective in case of chemical/bacteriological/nuclear attack?
The drinking tube is a little mess. I cut mine off and squeezed it inside a Camelbak Tube with a little piece of the old tube as seal. Then just put a hose clamp or a zip tie on top and you have the best option around there. I would recommend doing this with any Gas Mask drinking straw because you can use Camelbak, Source and many other modern systems with it

There seems to be quite some disagreement on this subject, given that the design origin is a 'license heritage' offshoot of the German Draeger original. Yeah the liquid I use is banana oil/Isoamyl acetate, very strong stuff, is used in proper mask fitting kits.

Fernez is way better, higher quality rubber, better straps, better view, voice diaphragm etc.

You can only use the filter made before 2006, I've tried on my M74 a filter from 2020 and they do not fit well

Mine will accept a NATO thread with no problem, no stiffness in turning as you find if you try a NATO filter in a GOST mask
