It’s not so much releasing pressure, more stoping pressure building up. If you take the cap off it will reduce the pressure on the seals in the master cylinder
Than ks for the reply. I'm doing my wife's tomorrow both front and rear, I did the rear about two years ago and had to bleed the breaks in the end to get air out because I did something wrong. worst job to do.
Middle of winter in the snow I did a hommer for a neighbour on one of these. Passenger door would not open fromm inside or out. Nightmare. I refused it twice but they were persistent. 2nd hand parts, 4 hours of labour, a drill, ripped off door card and new lock. £50 and a Chinese including parts. I'm a mug. They came back for rear pads, seized auto handbrake & everything rusted. £20 fr my efforts. I try to avoid them now at all costs.
Perfect video with imp tips...mate. There are many videos out there, some by big channels but dont cover minor items you did e.g. seal bulging ;)

Your to kind! I’d be charging my neighbour a lot more then that 🤣🤣 but to be fair my neighbour wouldn’t let me do it cheaper for her
