When Nami said “I think I have been through something like this before.”, it was a callback to Little Garden when Nami, ViVi and Zoro were trapped in Mr.3’s Caddlelabra and about to be turned to waxed statues and the only why to get out was to burn it👍👌
It flies by so quick not many realize it, I missed as well and had to be told, so now I mention it whenever I get the chance: Sora, Sanji's mother's name, is also the name of the Marine Hero from the comic where Germa 66 are the villains. Hard to gauge the importance of that fact, but maybe Judge isn't such a hard-ass after all.
rock d lee has a point, shanks gave luffy the ideals of a pirate, how shanks saw it. Luffy did take some life lessons from shanks and wanted to be a good man/pirate like shanks. To luffy shanks is more of a role model than a father/parent

I know a lot of other people have had this experience, but Shanks is like that one cool adult who was super real and also super cool that you knew irl when you were a little kid. You’ve got great nostalgic memories but you know you’ve also got your own thing going on. In a way that is a fatherly thing, bc thats what fathers are for, but most people don’t have that relationship with their fathers so we recognize the “will” that Shanks instilled in Luffy when he was a child.
Oh, and since we're dealing with them in this stretch of episodes:
All the big guys Luffy is beating up are quintuplets. Starting with the first one to plop out, Opera the guy with the Cream-Cream fruit, they're sons 10 through 14. Opera's name is a reference to the opera cake, but the rest of their names (Counter, Cadenza, Cabaletta, and Gala) ditch the food theme for the musical theme.

I've always seen jinbe as the big homie, or an older bro. Dependable, wise, and calm...someone you can lean on and look to for advice.
