Dudeguy, great idea. Definitely a fuzz + OD of some kind. Maybe not a bonsai, but maybe…another moonshine double? Or maybe more like a Timmy style circuit and the 3 series fuzz with an ordering toggle. The name is on point af, either way.
DUUUUUDE😯 What Rhett did with the fuzz + octave/shimmer reverb at 26:45….. I want to be in that place. It wrapped me in a cozy embrace of starlight and far off galaxy colors ❤️❤️❤️
What he played was basically the track "Panoramic" from the Book of Eli soundtrack: ua-cam.com/video/dSwyJ0aaM4k/v-deo.html Idk if that was intentional or not, but its rad

You gotta ‘Find Your Fuzz!’ and be creative stacking your pedals to create your own sounds that ‘YOU’ like. Great show as always, missed not having your live shows over last few months, I couldn’t work out what was missing from my life recently and have just realised obviously it was The JHS Show!!
I'm a huge TPS and JHS fan, and this show was a perfect example of how both of these shows can evolve, if the effort is there and the length of the show isn't too constrained. Give us some more of this!
I watched this show live on Wednesday on my TV/theater room. Haven't been in that room for a year/that's another story. I was stunned by how good the sound is. The bass is so good. Also the single cymbal the drummer has sounded so real in my home. Think I will watch from that room for now one. Great Jam!!
Dude i know what you mean. I traded some pedals in the other day hoping to find a new fuzz pedal to get, and it came down to the Fjord and a couple others. As soon as i tried the Fjord i was sold immediately. Never even tried the other pedals lol. The thing just sounds so good cranked up, and when using it to beef up your clean, its amazing. The volume roll back is smooth too. Its definitely not a fuzz for everyone though. Its pretty specific
I watched this live stream probably around when it came out the first time but decided to re watch it today, and wow. This one really is one of the greatest JHS videos ever. Just that bit on Josh being a forest ranger or w.e was hilarious. What a great vid. The topic of fuzz alone makes this video a must watch
Thanks for this great show! I really enjoyed the Slide Jam. I had to just laugh because it was great to see you having fun. Thanks for that! Need to buy a second Fuzz now don't find my tone on the Behringer SF300
I realize I’m very late to this party, but I have a Masters and Ph.D in biology, specifically focusing on forest ecology. Everything Josh is saying is pretty spot on, but I can’t recommend eating the Pokeweed. Love the show, love your pedals and they’ve both inspired me to start building and modding again after too many years of graduate school.
I agree with Rhett here. Fuzz is king for me, compared to overdrive. It can be splatty, it can be woofy, it can Doom, it can have crunch or just be a boost like Rhett showed. There's a vast amount of flavours to choose from. I left a similar comment on a Living Room Gear Demos vid (he needs to come on the show, too): Overdrive is kind of like a mild curry. It's okay, but not entirely memorable. Fuzz however, is a beautiful super spicy Green Thai curry, made by an old lady in downtown Bangkok and it rips you face off, but once you got the taste, you keep coming back for more.
Have to 100% agree. I got the Bezerker pedal recently from them, and it's one of the best fuzz pedals I've ever used. It's hard not turning it on, honestly
Thanks Josh and Rhett, your channels inspired me to discover new sounds and to experiment beyond the instrument itself, you are both beautiful souls, keep rocking, my friends! I play bass by the way.
Fuzz!!! Ultimate texture machines. The interaction between the controls of the guitar, the controls of the pedals, and how they stack make them almost synth like…but MUCH cooler! 😎
I love hearing the side of your knowledge on forestry and the FFA. I was also in FFA for Botany and Agriculture. Laughed my ass off when you talked about Poke salad.
That jam was awesome! You know which one. I can't imagine the music you guys could play just for your own pleasure away from cameras and 'work' responsibilities.
"I don't do drugs, but I feel that would have been where I would have started." -- Legit, that was an absolutely sick jam. I love jam bands such as Phish and, no exaggeration, that jam was right up there in the genre, guys. Absolutely loved it!
Great show!! I recently picked up a Vemuram Myriad Fuzz. It's a monster. It has silicon and Germanium transistors, and you can adjust the bias of the Germanium transistor. It's really loud but also cleans up nicely. I saw one in a picture of my friend's pedalboard and he swore by it. I do too.
Fun, great vibes and sounds and the galaxy's final slide battle, which ended with birds' call for breakfast. Great fuzz fun, the rhythm section was rocking too. This episode was vital to the rock soul. Keep rocking. A wah+fuzz and slide would have made Josh the new king of slide, but Rhett had his pedals fixed for just slide.😁
I actually rolled back to hear the part " ... and if you can't afford that, then why are you playing guitar" again. Laughed so hard. Thank you for that.
My board is very compact. I have a korg pitchblack, a 3 series compressor. A superbolt V2 with the red remote. A lucky cat, and a clover. Huge fan of your pedals. My favorite overdrive is the superbolt and one thing I love about it is I can crank the drive and volume and it does fuzz type sounds that I love. All this but I can also get always on gain and more low gain lead tones all from the same overdrive.
I didn't understand the value of fuzz until I accidentally bought one. The Attack/Decay pedal that I bought has a fuzz circuit in it, and my eyes were opened! But hearing other people making bee buzzing and farting sounds on UA-cam made me think I would not like or need fuzz in my life, but then used musically, it sounds great and it is in a lot of awesome songs, and also when you play it yourself, it is a lot of fun.
I didn’t really understand fuzz for many, many years. But then I came across one that fit my style, and something just clicked. Now I have lots of them, all kinds. I became a fuzzcollector! Beeing Norwegian, I’m quite proud to own several FjordFuzz’s. The Odin mrk1 is my favorite! I really want a Bifrost though. It had built in delay with exp.control option. It’s really cool! ❤️
I’ve been using Keeley Dark Side Fuzz V1 with an EQ pedal in it’s loop before it hits the Modulation side. I can’t imagine ever needing anything else for live shows and jamming.
If Josh cared as much about forestry as he does about pedals the rainforest would be just fine.

There needs to be a Bonsai + Fuzz dual pedal called the Smoke Jumper

37:53 ‘I’m delicate when it comes to my forestry background.’ 😂😂
That jam around the 1 hour mark was straight fire!
Fantastic show, y'all!
Scofield vibes in that jam!
I think that jam should be called Blind Break Test.
Lovin' that octofuzz low volume feed and the tone rip-ring mod groove.
You don't have to be trippin' to be trippy.

This was possibly one of the best JHS shows I've seen. They're all great...but this was damn awesome. You should have Rhett on more often.
45:09 "You KNOW how much I love trees, so why is this the first time I'm hearing this?."
A leafy lover's quarrel. Joshua is #1
Rhett should be on the show always. These are perhaps the best jams you've ever played live.
Andy T - I would agree with that. Very "fusion(esqe)" stuff. Kicked ass.
Just got my first JHS pedal today, got the Angry Charlie, thang be thangin
I was planning to get one myself. Let me know your thoughts! 😃
Nice! Thanks for the support :)
Wasn’t National Treasure about finding the fuzz schematic on the back of the Declaration of Independence?
Josh’s face when other Josh asked for Gorgias Press Syriac texts 😆
The gate control for a big muff should be called "the chastity belt"
I'd like the JHS jam band to record albums, they sound so good, and enjoy Josh's riffs a lot, as well as the tight rhythm section there.
DUUUUUDE😯

Just got a Series 3 Chorus to use as a Leslie simulator and it works so well. Really glad to see Josh always use it for that same thing too.
Savage playing, as usual. Rhett's energies blend well with the JHS Trio.
"Fuzz lives in a dimension outside of our concerns and our rules." Yes. So much yes.

Fuzz is ale, overdrive is lager. Fuzz can be anything and still be "right" whereas there are more rules for what a good overdrive should be.
I love Thai green curry but if I had it all the time my a$$ would be raw. Also love dark ales but can't stand IPA. I don't know what I'm saying.
Love Fjord Fuzz. I got the Odin and I absolutely can't stop playing it.
That's because Odin the Allfather is helping the signal in each one of those pedals.
