I know I'm late to the party, but I just discovered Louie Vega during the pandemic. I found all these mixes of his over the years and they're all on point! When I listen, it really brings me pure joy. I saw him for the 1st time in my life at Flash in DC back in April 2022. I danced until 5 in the morning!!! Hahaha!! I gotta get up to NYC for a session. God Bless!!
When Louie came to Chicago to bless us, he started off with a traditional Latin salsa or rumba trax and was thinking… if he play this all not long, I wouldn’t be mad!!! It was so fire!!!!

This set is one of the most special ones I've listened to (& watched). Meditative, inspiring, & VERY complete on so many levels.
The way Louie goes through the blends, mixes, transitions; everything.
His choices are lazer focused & intentional & most likely if you ask he'll write it off as just "a flow".
A musical genius on so many levels AND: many of these songs he has a BIG part of creating, co producing or intuitively formulating collaborations on epic levels...so....there's that!
If I had ONE word to describe Louie Vega as far as his contribution to the FULL spectrum of music (from pioneering Hip Hop days, Freestyle, House & EDM+) I couldn't. I would need many words....here are a few:

From here in NYC we were just wondering when we see these house music dj's, the best in the world,at these spots in other countries, these beautiful, awesome spots..WHAT THE HELL IS UP WITH THESE PEOPLE who go to these events??? They are usually JUST SITTING OR STANDING AROUND looking at the dj INSTEAD OF DANCING?????? WTF is that about??? How can u just sit there when Mr Vega ,among others,are doing work??I guess that's the way it is over there but it seems like a gigantic waste to us to just stand or sit there WATCHING the dj.Makes no sense to us.

It's more like a luxurious lounge. I don't think it's expected to get folk dancing. Just a chill atmophere with eating /drinking options. Nothing you can do about that scenerio, but make sure the money is right at the end of the night.
@@thedjsmoove1967 Yes,while we understand and know what the situation appears to be ,from NYC the fact of the matter is it's a waste of time and genius to just SIT THERE when Louie is doing what he does. Just seems like a waste to us as we are having less and less opportunity to hang with our friends and dance in these crazy times and it's something we need now more than ever we're sure all would agree.
