We play with a Yugoslav chessboard and pieces from the 50s, and the chess clock is German-made from roughly the same period.

I've played recently with a very similar set (although in much worse shape and sadly missing several pieces), it's amazing how stable and comfortable to use those pieces are. Great design. I hope to find a full set some day
