Finally caught up and finished the series. Great work! Both educational and entertaining. I’ll be buying mine next year if there are any left! Cheers 🍻
@@KonnichiwaChannel1 Hello and thank you for your question! I am being stationed in either Osaka or Kyoto in January, so hopefully within an hour or so from there, and ideally near the ocean. My budget is similar to yours and I do not plan to take on any debt as well. Although kominka is not a good financial investment per se, if you are planning to live there for years or the rest of your life, I couldn't think of a better use of your money if you love Japan. Looking forward to many more videos from you and your lovely family in Japan! Cheers
@jeffrey that's a lovely part of the country down there. I wish you luck on your search. Exciting times! Please send pictures / videos when you get one. Your right that they are not a good investment in the sense that they won't appreciate in value but you most definitely get your money worth in terms of lack of rent and enjoyment value!
Nice work putting those cross beams in with a dado joint! Most DIY people these days would just use an L bracket and extra screws. The part you've done is now looking much better than everything else so you'll just have to re-do the whole outside now
It is impressive to see how you guys are taking these tasks on and doing great work! I was impressed with your mastery of the architectural terminology, too. Now, if you can get your voice-over volume levels up considerably that would be great. My wife could barely hear most of your vid this time.
I heard that having those regular "bell" is also useful to make sure the emergency system is working properly, but its usually only one time a day(at 1600 or 1700 in Tokyo)
Yes that's true. We get a lot out here. We also get general announcements about the heat or Covid... Once we had one to say the lady who was missing had been found...
You are completely right about this "bell" music three times a day

Jeffrey which area are you going to buy in? That's very exciting!

Oh my gosh Mark, don't say that, that would be one helluva huge job! I agree though, it does look much nicer than the rest of the house.

Thanks Etherdog. I'm learning so much! Will try to get the voice volume up.
Looking pretty thorough, guys! Looking forward to the next one!
Thanks Jan 😊
Another wonderfully detailed update, thank you for sharing!

It is so tough renovating. You are both doing a beautiful job. Great price for the super window. Love it
It's tougher than I thought it was going to be! Thanks Jean.
Well done, guys! Another step taken! 💪💪
Thanks Olaide 🤗
Everything is coming along, slowly but surely. This will all be worth it in the end. :) Sending ❤️ from Texas. 👋
Thanks so much A Arr. Yes slowly but surely...

Obrigada 🤗
It looks pretty from the outside!
Thanks V J
Please, both of you, accept a virtual pat on the back. GJ! (good job).
See you in Ep 19.
Thanks Paul. We're pretty pleased with ourselves 😊
I hope you are feeding that boy some good grub!
Are you talking about Ichi or Keko? 😆
Big brain thinking🧠 Why pay to go to a hot spring resort with a view when you can have one at home!
Hehehe yes! World's longest wait though!
can you buy western style saws in japan ? The Japanese one seem more versatile though
Yes you can!
