An sonic boom i heard in the middle of the night, if thought an explosion? What was that?

Remember id ask my family, just one heard an huge bang.
Later ive found out, that the hunga tonga vulcano erupted... in combination vs seawater the hot magma reacted like an big nuclear bomb.... it exploded and caused an huge mushroomcloud going into the stratosphere in seconds.
Than came the boom... reaches alaska some hours after the explosion... in a video you think of huge gunfire, but it was the vulcano tearing himself apart.
Now its like the krakatoa... in 1883... no Island... everything gone.
