- Tag along to London for a behind the scenes visit to the chic city flat of interior design team Paolo Moschino and Philip Vergeylen. In their stylishly renovated 19th century apartment, Moschino and Vergeylen gutted much of the existing floorplan to accommodate their busy professional lives in the city. Using the apartment mostly in the evening after work, they created larger public spaces for entertaining, from a double drawing room to a dark and glamorous dining room. See how they incorporated their many collections and hear Paolo’s tips for clever storage solutions as well as collecting and displaying art. You’ll be inspired, informed and entertained!! I LOVE symmetry! Thank you Paolo...someone who appreciates balance.
This home has a lot of passion in it. splendid way to display new and old collection's.
Stacy Collins They are avid collectors! Glad you enjoyed!
The cutest thing was the adorable dog chewing his stuffed animal!!!😺😺😺💗
Love his accent. I have a southern german accent myself. Beautiful home!!🥰
This designer has got the best taste in his house! So beautiful!
Agreed! Glad you enjoyed!
In LOVE with all the beautiful antiques and impeccable decor. Thank you for sharing all this beauty!
HRHPaula our pleasure!!
A house for the daytime and an apartment for the evening!
I love the chest of drawers in the guest room..
👍🏻👍🏻
I kept thinking... that dog is so lucky 😊
I was personally never afraid of a darker interior, this home felt moody and cozy and intimate, very homey.
I agree. I love the entire concept of a 'night house'. I rarely hear someone lay that out as their aesthetic intention. Doesn't it just say volumes about how a person lives in a certain environment though? I love it. I may not have an entire 'night house' but certainly have rooms that are designed to look their best and be used from sundown onwards...or even dark, rainy days. For example, I can't really see smoked, antiqued mirrors, burning incense and the dark-crafts-disco-underworld kitsch of J Anthony Redmile working in a reception room at 11.45am somehow :D.
Please please. PRETTY please! We need longer episodes. I´m an addict and need more and more.
Erik with a K Highest compliment - thank you!
He's not the only one!!
@@Mac62671 Thank you Patsy!!
Why the program is so short, you cant even enjoy it.
Would loooove longer episodes!!
“We won’t buy for the value, but we buy for what we love!” Designers like them always said so, can’t agree more!
I love how he occasionally looks at the camera while he’s talking to you-it’s like he wants to include us in on the conversation too. ❤️
Yes, so charming!
Yes... lol

Albi Assefi Delighted you feel that way and enjoyed!
Another beautiful and inspiring episode ...thank you so much!!!
His flat is like stepping into another world. So much great use of color; with daring bold contrast, and mix of interesting elements. The vintage styling gives this flat a timeless feel, and a incredibly cozy feel. God I love those wall panels! Wainscot walls are my favorite! And I would love to have them in one of my future home. Once again, I am intrigued, and blown away by an incredible designer, featured by yours truly. Thank you Susanna for yet another amazing tour!
th3azscorpio We loved the walls as well - so glad you enjoyed!
He is a delight. And symmetry is king!
The home speaks volumes about the taste and personality of the owner so well travelled and the collection of the artefacts and those paintings so well placed in fact the partition with Chinese paintings reminded me of my moms fire screen the other side was scenery of jace stones it was a masterpiece I just luved everything about this house ❤️

"Looking around to find surprises is like a gift." Yes, it certainly is.
Very nice to watch! Like the dining room.
Glad you enjoyed it
We are always saying, Please, aren’t we.? We love you❤️. You are our light and gift. Have your 1st book on Dogs, and have already preordered the new English County one 👍. But, please, I would cherish to see their country home and 🌟 GARDEN!! Blessed 2020💐
Thank you so much. Not sure we will be able to film there but you will get a glimpse in the new book!!
Thank you so much and hope you got the new book by now! Hopefully it will show you how beautiful their country house is
So many unique items! Love your videos! I'm having the most fun watching them!
Thanks so very much!! So glad you enjoyed!
Finally, someone using the dining room! (I bet the coffee is excellent). Love the idea of the circular window to bring in more light!
I just fell in love with Pablo
This video was waaay too short! More please, More, more more!
Always happy to see viewers wanting more! Glad you enjoyed!!
My bathroom is a dark purple color and I love it. Dark colors can make a room mysterious, timeless and romantic!
tigermoon44 so agree!
With you in this, tigermoon44. My favorite room is my deep green front room, which is full of books and faces east. It is richly warm, enveloping and comfortable at night but also cheerful on weekend mornings. Perfect for coffee and a book, cat sharing the footstool with my feet... Half the time I am simply enjoying being there rather than reading.
Always a joy and so inspiring to watch your videos.. thank you 🙏🏼💖✨
Ri Ma Thanks so much!

Note to self: Must use your dining room!
Roy Thompson yes!!
I love how he's honest about 'dropping" his art wherever it lands.....but it looks good!!!
P.M. says "we have china behind here" S.S. says "just a few pieces" bwahahahahha! Oh Susanna you are a treasure!!!
Gosh! When your video first started I was immediately remembering a home I visited as a child that was this dark and rich feeling. It was in the evening so the lights were on but they were low lighting and it was magical. I was struck by the elegance long ago, even as a child, and now as this video began playing I was thrown back into the memory I have cherished for so many years.. The lushness of this home is perfection.. And when Paolo explained, "It's a night house" I was immersed in agreement. The home's elegance is a wonderful gift and their ideas and decor tips are equally a gift. These fellas could be a part of my family with their love of their dog, art, decor, china and lets not forget to mention the small view of the gorgeous grounds we barely got to see. In the famous words of a fictional child character, "I want more." Thank you Susanna and Stacey for sharing your talented efforts! You both never disappoint!!
Amy Hoffmann Thank you so much Amy - so glad you enjoyed this episode!
Amy Hoffmann thank you for sharing your wonderful memory!
This was great to see, a unusual but cosy London flat, thank you for sharing Susanna
You always have such down to earth interesting quests, I would enjoy spending quality time with them. Oh Susanna I know you really appreciate how lucky you are and of course how lucky they are to have you in their homes.
Unique Style Thank you - we do feel lucky to be able to visit and share these talented designers’ homes!

@@quintessenceblg thank you my dear 😊
A bull terrier without a tail. Shocking!
Beautiful... Love the faux window, extra storage and it quenches the need for symmetry, Bravo!
NO books? NO library? in such a BEAUTIFULLY decorated home :(
It's an apartment in London - so unfortunately no room for a library.
I loved this video Susanna! What a charming man Paolo is! I love a home that is eclectic and everything tells a story! The detail, the art, the LEOPARD and all the other animal print touches but most of all his beloved dog playing with the stuffed toy! Adorable!! Thank you! 😘
Elle J So glad you enjoyed and Jack (dog) is the cover star of At Home in the English Countryside: Designers and Their Dogs - coming in March 2020 from Rizzoli!
My pleasure thank you so much for watching!
Thanks for sharing this beautifully decorated appartment with such genius deco - hacks!
I like they buy want they like and it doesn't even have to be expensive.
A great place with innovative AND practical features. I was struck by how this is a home with many dark walls but is not at all oppressive and there's plenty of light. Too I like how Paolo and Philip buy artwork simply because they like it.---Though it's not what you usually have in your videos, Susanna, would you ever make a video about how in some movies the interiors are like characters themselves, as in "The Heiress" , "Giant" and "Rosemary's Baby"? Too I wish someone would open a restaurant that re-creates ship's dining room from 1972's disaster film "The Poseidon Adventure"--I'm already on the lookout for your next visit to someone's home!
Andrew Brendan Thank you so much Andrew! Paolo and Philip did a masterful job! We probably will not do an episode about movie interiors but I have written about it on the blog quite a few times! - Stacey (behind the camera and the blog)
@@quintessenceblg Very interesting! I need to check out the blog!
Andrew Brendan what a fun idea!!
Amei😍😍!Sucesso!!
Beautiful apartment great ideas but what a great disappointment that you didn't show the Terracotta piece up close it was the focal point of the room and a story behind it and yet I don't have a clue what it look like
Kathleen Murphy I’m sorry you felt we didn’t focus on the sculpture enough. There was so much else to appreciate in the room as well!
@@quintessenceblg I know it was overwhelming but that was a very beautiful piece and I love pottery I've made porcelain dolls you working with terracotta porcelain very intense work and not everything turned out
If you ever go back you've got to he will close up on that terracotta piece
Heaven. I want it all. Susanna your outfit is beautiful. Thank you Paolo Philip and Jack.... I'm in love with Jack.

Alexa GS it is available on pre order via amazon now and out next March: we shot a whole chapter of Jack at home in the country!! I think you’ll love it!!
Love, love the videos but would love to listen to the designers talk more and tour through the homes with little interruption. Longer videos too. Love Susanna!
Tami Shay We feel it is more interesting, informative and entertaining to have a conversation with the designer rather than a one sided tour but we appreciate your input.
I want her job
Love the secret storage but a little too dark inside for me but still a beautiful home. ❤️ the shoe collection 👍🏻
Wow. For once I love the artwork.
Often I love the decorating whether it's my taste or pallette or not.
Such an amazing house. All the artworks were great too, nothing pretentious. Just need to sort out the audio set up at the beginning of the video but otherwise perfect.
Too short! Too short! Mmmmmoooorrrreeeeeeee, please. Pretty please.

My show is back!! I love that place. The dining table was divine.
The dining room is so glamorous!
The dog!
The china window is a great idea. And, designing a home for the time of day it's used, is a great idea. Wish this episode had been longer! Thank you all for sharing.
P.S. Jack is a sweet boy.
Cindy M Lots of useful advice - Agreed! Glad you enjoyed!
Elegant...hello from Indonesia.
So glad you liked - love seeing viewers from around the world!
@@quintessenceblg you welcome,friend.
Who knows what color the bedroom walls were chosen. Beings it's the night house, I'd say Eggplant would be a happy medium.
You should go to Patricia Alchtuls amazing amazing home in Charleston, sc. Mario buatta decorated it and her homes have been in Architectural Digest!!
Angela Hartley Yes we had a shoot there on the books but Patricia had a change in schedule due to her Bravo responsibilities - we’ll try again sometime!

Bonjour ladies ! To me, the best description of this video/apartment visit tour would be
" Discovery of a jewel in its case "
Voilà, I said everything there is to be about this video *Winks * Merci mesdames pour ce moment précieux.
Thank you ladies for this precious moment - ton of appreciation your way. - Rosalind -
Rosalind Hambleton Thank you Rosalind! It is a jewel box!
Ask questions when you visit someone’s home but don’t gush over everything. A bit of restraint.
Come on. They obvs want you to gush.. A fountainful of gushment
