I’d probably give it to Partey but hard to choose with so many standout performances - Partey, Saka, Odegaard, Gabriel, Saliba, Timber and Raya were all fantastic
Happy to see good football again. A good step in the right direction but the key is consistency. Brick by brick. Let's not fool ourselves in order to achieve LONG TERM SUCCESS this team needs to cement their legacy at the club with major trophies soon.
even though we won 5-1, david raya had an excellent game. unlike the weekend, it was a full display from him, since he was actually tested and came up with great saves. his cross collection is always top. and yet again, his quick releases and distribution (long or short) were sublime. apart from the bournemouth game, he’s been world class this season
This performance showed me a few things........ 1) These 2 games have proved what Odegaard is all about and how absolutely crucial he is to our team. 2) There's a real headache for Arteta with the "best midfield 3" situation....... its actually a nice headache to have. 3) Bukayo Saka is a world class winger. 4) Calafiori is way, WAY better than any other left back that we have at the club........ and he's this good already, at a very young age for a defender. And lastly 5) ........ Jurrien Timber is an absolute gem of a signing, I think he's far better than any of us imagined to be honest. In my own opinion, Timber "could" get close to the level of Ashley Cole if he carries on improving like this. I'm not saying that he's that good yet but I think he could well get to that level, he's brilliant!!
Ødegaard proving that one man, can infact, make a team. He genuinely fills the team with confidence. We look better all over the pitch since his return, not just in attack.
Feel like some people are going to be against us signing Gyokeres after this game. He was decent but the rest of the sporting team were outclassed. He won the battle against saliba once or twice, and he wouldn't be playing against one of the best CB partnerships in europe every week. Granted liverpool's cb pairing have been very good - ours is still one of the best, so I think it's unfair to expect him to look as good as he has. I'd still take him, think if we're serious about the title we need to try for him or isak in January, even if liverpool suffer a setback in december and we close the gap.
Yeah agreed, I'm still torn on whether we should go for him, Isak or someone else but he was probably their best player tonight & he was up against one of the meanest defences in Europe.
Big win, I haven't seen this anywhere but I would appreciate your analysis on something we did in build up on occasion. It looked like our mid box sometimes set up as a diamond with Dec at the ten and Ode and Richy either side of him. Wanna know if it's something that could work and how would it look like down the line.
That havertz goal was delicious... rice still off it a bit. And finally, I'd go all in for isak, we had the swede covered. Diamonde wasn't impressed at all, should he have been off? 😂
When we won against Forest, the narrative was that, it's just Forest. Now, after beating Sporting, it's going to be it's because Amorin is no longer there.
If Arsenal can keep the squad as fit as this, we could do very well in the champions league. Especially as the EPL seems to be a stretch too far, the reduction in pressure could be a benefit.
Under Arteta, we once had a performance like last night's in Europa League qfs against Slavia Prague after drawing the first leg 1-1 at the Emirates. We won that match 0-4.
James, whilst the introduction of Ødegaard has massively boosted our side, an observation I have made which I dont have any stats to back this up this claim btw, so maybe you can analyse this further, but in the past 2 games we have been taking a lot more risks in possession, such as in our build up play, receiving the ball in tight spaces and players not being afraid to take risks. There were so many times Partey/Rice/Odegaard received the ball on the half turn in our own box from Raya, turned on it and got us playing. By comparison, prior to the international break, we were going long more often than not and the passing was a lot more “safety first” in order to ensure we do not give up possession by any means. I have a feeling this is a instruction from Mikel to the players to be braver on the ball which I loved. Interested to know what your thoughts are?
We often see players come back sooner from an ankle injury. I like to believe that in Odegaard's case the club made sure he is 110% fit, so that when he plays we dont have to nurse through a few games. Big up the med team and Odegaard for putting in the work. Also, i think Arteta is playing the marathon here, considering how we fell off in the 2nd half of the season previous 2 times.
Great, great result James .... but I've a couple of matters arising. Would you rather have a penalty and an early sending off ( foul on Odegard before the first goal I think it was ?) or a sure fire goal, because either could arguably have occurred ? Secondly, doesn't a performance like that only make Gyokeres more likely to want to join the Gunners ?
Of the forwards that Arsenal are supposedly interested in, neither Isak nor Gyokeres were able to make a difference in their most recent games. The forward that has impressed me recently is Liam Delap.
@@victorsomosu12350 goals in a farmers league against weak opposition. Caused us no problems today although you can see a player there, too selfish and he wasn’t hitting the target enough, no movement, tracking or closing down, link up play looked shit too

If Gabriel isn’t fit for West ham, I’d play Zinny at LB and move Calafiori to CB! I have a video dropping tomorrow about how important our fullbacks are to our overall style of play, especially in attack that you might like, so I think the sensible option is to bring in Zinny to help us continue to control games and keep the profile of a left footed LB. If I was to play Kiwior it would be as a CB, I think in the games he has played there, he has been solid. His athleticism isn’t really suited for left back and if we want to continue our attacking prowess, I’d bring in Zinny who had a good cameo today again!
Arsenal fans live in a realm of believing we're a top 4 team and title challenging team at the same time. We speak as if we don't expect this from our first eleven.

I’d probably give it to Partey but hard to choose with so many standout performances - Partey, Saka, Odegaard, Gabriel, Saliba, Timber and Raya were all fantastic
Havertz odegard saka gabriel raya
Saliba for me , covered the main threat with ease , hopefully all coming into form.at same time
Partey
The fact that everyone's given a different name says it all. Could be half the team!
unbelievable result. To score 5 goals and win there when they've been undefeated all season is amazing

That was my 1st time properly watching Gyokores and you could see he's qualities clearly. It's just unfortunate he came up against 2 monsters lol.
That thumbnail looks so fresh 🔥🔥 great video, great win!!❤️❤️

Here first to celebrate our convincing win over Sporting, CP.

I don't know how he wasn't sent off
isak would have struggled the same way in that sporting team
Just pray and hope this back line stay fit. Then we r a problem for any team.
Rewatched the game this morning and Gyokeres kept getting switched from Gabriel's pocket to Saliba's pocket😂

Luckily we're seeing him at the Emirates soon to dead that nonsense.
I wonder how the narrative will change when we hopefully beat man u, a team managed by amorim

Thomas Partey was also 🔥 Best he's looked for us in a while.
What a night.
To go to Lisbon and get five goals totally amazing.
It was the same when to Milan twenty-two years ago.
I think it was 2003 November we played inter Milan

not the game to judge gyokeres off, hes been phenomenal this season and 2024 as a whole
Pack it up everyone, FinsburyPhil on UA-cam doesn't think the guy who's scored 50+ goals this year is the one. But let's go for Delap instead 😂

Zinny played key passes yesterday. His passes are masterclass
Partey have been learning from jorginho abit if only you understand me especially his chip passes
and - San Marino have won a match more recently than Man City 🔥

Arteta and his staff know what profile of striker the squad needs. All the calls for Isak or Gyokeres will not influence their decisions.
