Nice technical driving. I often see people trying to brute-force their way up and that's how most accidents happen. It's better to climb for 2 hours and not break anything than climb for half an hour and grind down your differential.
david hotard I bought my 99 about the time of this comment, been reliable and goes just about anywhere, I’m looking for an 8.8 with a locker to put in it soon
@@Larcona_ you mean the vacuum pos? I swapped to manual hubs as soon as I got it. No issues. I had to replace the hub assemblies not too long ago because after 220k and 20 years a wheel bearing finally gave out. Other than basic maintenance the things been rock solid
We headed out early to do some harder runs that morning. Yes, the built fjs did climb this later. Was entertaining for sure. Yeah I miss that I beam front end.
im loving that rear offroad bumper for the ranger!!! would you happen to remember who makes that and if that would work with my 2001 ford ranger xlt flareside i dont think it being a flareside or a 4x4 would matter but i would absolutely love to get one of those bad boys on my ranger that is exactly i mean EXACTY Whhat ive been searching for!!a thanks soo much for your help in advance god speed!!, -peter
No the stock shafts were fine after the lift. After I installed the tcase doubler, I had a custom rear driveshaft built and I built an extended front driveshaft. I sold this truck a couple years ago and the new owner still wheels it hard and no issues.
A ford ranger is probably one of the top 5 best midsize trucks out there i mean you can do so much to them and their builds aint that expensive as toyota so id take a ranger anyday and im not just saying that because i own one. Toyotas really are over hyped but they do have great lower gear ratios and torque
That whine is familiar. Currently driving my dad's 1990 Ford Ranger with the 2.3 and 5 speed manual

Can you do a walk run of the Ford Ranger
Ford would shit himself if he saw what his trucks are capable of now compared to his first Model T's lol
Pretty cool actually plan on buying one of these rangers be the first ford I ever owned hopefully it proves everything I’ve heard wrong
With just a set of decent ATs mine will go anywhere it fits without any real trouble.

I have one sitting now , I'd like to find an expedition or explorer front and rear diffs for it , it'll make it wider and alot more flexible
@@DylanC828 Have you had any issues with hubs? I've had enough failures that I just swapped to live axle.

Notice you are on a yearly trip with the Toyota Trail riders. Did the Toyota's already make it up the trails? Good thing it's a I beam ford though.

Custom made by a local guy.
What type of a shock absorbers you use? I go with my 2x4 off roading and it feels very rough.
Vahagn melikyan go 15 psi
They were ranchos and tires at 12psi
Is that a solid front axle I see?
No just the stock twin I beam.
It's actually called twin traction beam (TTB). Traction meaning it's a drive axle. Twin I beam is 2wd. I had an '86 Ranger. I miss that little truck.
What suspension and tires are you running on the ranger
6" superlift and 33x12.5 maxxis bighorns.
Matthew Kimber Thanks. Picking up a ranger here real soon. Looking to beef it up a bit. Yours looks good.
Thanks, I had fun with it. I sold it a while back but now have a cherokee I'm building up to take it's place. I needed a back seat for the kids.
Sweet video. Did you have to modify the driveshaft at all after you installed the super lift?

*Mods on this truck?*
6" lift, 33s, rear locker, doubler transfer case and a lot of little things. Sold it though. 😥

Trying to short cut backed up traffic.

Le faltaba inteligencia al chofer
What Ranger model?
1994 4.0v6 5 speed
Lol that ford power steering sound like shit
All them LED light bars and no lockers.
austin Hutch To be far, lockers are like 10x the price of a light bar
Jake not lunch box lockers?😂
It was locked in the rear.
2wd?
3wd with rear locked
@@mkimber 3wd?
@@zeestrees2780 well it was 4x4 but the front wasn't locked so technically 3wd. haha
F Danger Rangers
a ranger keeping up with a yota is like a white man trying to beat a black man in basketball
SurviventheOnslaught, Toyota’s are honestly overhyped
agreed.

You're stupid. A ranger would out do an equivalent build Toyota any day of the week.

Worst spotter on the planet.!!!
That's how them good ol boys from the TX panhandle roll! Haha
