- If you have a TWSBI Vac-700, then you will be very interested to learn more about the Vac-20 inkwell. It's an ink bottle that screws onto the Vac-700 to make transporting and filling ink a cinch, without making a mess.
Love the cross compatibility of the lids. Very nice!

Yes, I spilled ink too the first time I used it - with the mini vac there are 3 caps that need to be screwed on snugly! After I understood that, I really like this little tool!
Tip: I kept the little TWSBI cardboard box the Vac-20 comes in. This makes it easier to pack and take with you on an adventure.

I recently bought a Vac-20A which seems to be the same as this, but with an extra adaptor at the neck for use with the vac mini. As I only have a mini and (so far) I don't have a vac-700r this is a great idea.
One small step of Twisbi and a giant leap in ink filling. lovely!
I did the same thing the first time I used it! You have to tighten the cap more, so it won't spew out like that.

I haven't read these, but on FPN folks recommend: Write Now: a complete self-teaching program for better handwriting, Italic Calligraphy & Handwriting: Exercises and Text, Handwriting for Today, and The Art of Calligraphy: A practical guide., among others. My favorite pens for beginners are the Pilot Metropolitan, Lamy Safari, and Platinum Preppy.

The vacuum is formed behind the piston as it's pressed down and at the bottom the seal is broken allowing the ink to be drawn up into the pen.

Yeah, you can do it that way if you want, it doesn't really matter.
I wonder if silicone grease can help the cap seal better?

I'm still amazed that you don't have to wipe the nib section after filling the pen using the VAC system. I can't wrap my head around it. I'm contemplating getting this inkwell if it's truly mess free.
I wish they made it in glass! It's really a nice concept.
I bought this handy little ink bottle from Goulet because I have two Vac 700 (too bad they've been discontinued) and mine came with a mid section that allows the Vac Mini use of this as well, but neither sections work with the Eco. I don't know about the 580 because I don't have one.

What is the small clear plastic thing on the cap of the vac 20? Is it removable to put maybe a cloth like the visconti ink well?

Question: Does it (20 ml TWSBI Inkwell) also work with the normal TWSBI Mini (not the Vacuum model)?
For me working: I don't have to clean the gripsection after it. Cleaning the nib is what you always have to do.
I believe these are meant specifically for the Vac models. The Diamond 50 inkwell works with the other models. -Lydia

The first time i did it i didnt screw tight enough and i had trouble pouring the ink into the bottle and spilled a large amount
So this is for the vac 700... and the diamond 50 was for the 540/580. But can you use either pen in the diamond 20? The reason I ask is I can't seem to fin the 50 or the 50p that u have a video for on your site.....?
Will the adapter portion work with the TWSBI Classic?
I wonder if Lamy Joy would be compatible with this? As in, not too thin for the opening. Could still unscrew it and use normally, but it would be cool if I could use it like its meant to be.
No, these are really meant for the TWSBI pens, as they are threaded in to create the seal. - Colin

I like the bottle. However, I got a nice ink shower on my third pump. My hands looked like I had slaughtered a smurf. I see the main advantage of this bottle for traveling.

It looks like the directions tell you to have the rod out when you screw the pen on to the bottle.
question, does that ink that you use in demonstrations actually work as an ink, or is it just for show?
It's just for show. It's water with a bit of dye on it. Makes it easy to clean different things out. - Colin

Because the ECO doesn't have a separate nib unit, it wouldn't work with the Diamond 50 inkwell. Something like the Pineider Pen Filler is probably the best option for the ECO: ua-cam.com/video/3M7HjIffNgQ/v-deo.html - Colin

No, unfortunately not. The Eco doesn't have a removable nib unit so it doesn't work on either of the TWSBI Inkwells 9Vac-20/Diamond 50). - Colin

There's not a huge difference, just a design change to incorporate the new Vac-Mini and 700R. Looking nearly identical and functions the same. - Colin

What ink is this?
It's SUPER diluted ink. I forget which color, probably Pilot Kon-Peki or Liberty's Elysium. For demonstration purposes in these types of videos, I will take a bottle of water and just put a few drops of blue ink in it so that you see the color, but it's still translucent enough to see what's on the other side. If I used pure ink, it's be almost completely opaque. -Brian Goulet

i have the VAC700R and this same inkwell... however, for some reason, i can't seem to get it to work.. quite upset about it as i got these recently as bday gifts and sooo dying to use it already
It should fit still! The difference with the 700 & 700R shouldn't affect the filling system with this inkwell. If you want, you can reach out to our Customer Care team (info@gouletpens.com) and they might be able to help to get it working! - Colin

bad design. visconti's is much better
It serves a different purpose than Viscontis, this is meant as a desk inkwell, the Visconti is meant for transport. The Visconti one is 4x the price and holds 1/4 of the ink, so it's a tradeoff. -Brian
