      It's fun to watch him launch bombs from well beyond the arc. If you watch the game, you see the morale of the Cavs just drop when it connects! (example: Jarrett Allen's reaction when Trae lays down the 3 ball hammer)

    Chuck made a great point about having players who can will their team to win... Trae young is one of those players, the question is whether he could do it for four games against a stout Miami defense.

    One thing the hawks have that many teams don’t have is the mentality of never giving up no matter how “good” the other team is and they don’t care about the doubters. They just play, and they play to win. I’m a hawks fan and I obviously want them to win but I do have respect for the heat and it is gonna be hard to win this series, I’m hoping y’all keep doubting so we can use that as fuel.

    Nothing that Trae Young did surprised me one bit. He’s been at it before when he took the playoffs by storm and got some fortunate breaks along the way en route to the conference finals last year

    Cavs sputtered down the end of the season, but it definitely is a step in the right direction. If they improve, they can definitely make the playoffs proper next year.

      @@PyroPuffs777 | Collin Sexton being gone for the season was a huge L for us, the Mobley was out a few different stretches, and then when Caris Levert came he played one game then was out for a while too, Lauri missed some time also. After the all star break they just struggled a bit, it’s crazy how they fell out of the playoffs after being so high at one point.

    And yes I agree with Charles wholeheartedly about the bubble! Home court advantage and being able to hear your fans really makes a difference to the players as well as what a lot of players have talked about through the years is when you have to travel to play the other team and being that other locker room than the shenanigans that sometimes go on that we don't see behind the scenes that cause it to be uncomfortable for the visiting team! The bubble took all that away and it wasn't the same type of competition not to mention a lot of players didn't even want to be there

      Although all that’s true, that’s one way of looking at it. Everyone in the bubble had to go through the same thing. So it was fair for everyone as far as competing. It just wasn’t as exciting due to COVID.

      @@paquinraino8180 of course he is. He is as skilled as any center ever. But he needs to change his mentality, not his skill. Garland had that mentality since highschool. So do Cade and Green. I'm not saying force bad shots, just be agressive about getting the ball when he has a mismatch or in his sweet spots. I like that he's a willing (and great) passer. But some of those tonight should have been going forcefully to the basket. After he was blocked by Okongwu he was hesitant. He's already great. And just by force of age and improvement he'll be an all star regardless. But his potential is way higher. He can be a best player on a contender

    Agree with Chuck on the point about Miami... I haven't believed in them all year, they have nobody like Trae, that can take you there as a scorer.
    However Idon't agree with his Bubble take, because you took out home court but you also took out anxiety of performing against the road crowds, & that's why all the role players played consistently better than they normally do in the playoffs.

      Chuck said that the bubble took home court and travel fatigue away from the equation. What you are left with is talent. In the bubble the best team won. The bubble was great, it gave us two Denver 3-1 comebacks. It gave us an epic jimmy butler finals game. Finally it gave us the best version of AD.

Especially considering AD hasn’t been able to compete on that high level outside of that controlled environment. Before covid hit, AD was already struggling with injuries. So it’s fair to say he benefitted greatly from that pause.

      Trae still has to win to surpass Steph. I could see him surpassing stats-wise, but Steph was getting benched for Acie Law when he first got to the NBA and had to slowly redefine the way the game is played. Trae was drafted as the future of his franchise and reaps the benefits of what Steph sowed in changing the game.

    Shame Cavs had so many injuries during this season. I really liked their lineup of Rubio,Garland,Mobley,Markkanen and Allen and K Love of the bench :(

    Im really optimistic with the cavs for the next years to come. even if they get rid of Sexton or something. They have a good defense with their frontcourt and having Garland secures a lot for them

    If John Collins and Clint Capela were both healthy, I would absolutely give the Hawks a 50% chance of beating the Heat in this series. Unfortunately, this is not the case, so I think the Heat would beat them in six.

      I would give Atlanta a better than 60% chance if they had Capela and Collins. In the playoffs, Trae Young has proven to be a rare type of closer in big moments Miami doesn't have that guy. Without Capela and Collins, I give the Hawks a 35% chance of winning the series. Miami should handle business, they are a very deep team with playoff experience.

      Jimmy is def not a closer but ive watched every heat game pretty much this season. Herro had a bad season last year but hes become a closer this year. Hes pretty much the only player we got that can create their own shot from anywhere. Lowry can kind of do it but not every night

    Cavs coach was too stubborn, kept 3 7footers out there. Allowed Trey to play iso against one of them with a basic screen. Asking a 7footer to guard Trey is unreasonable and dumb.
    Why wasn't Garland guarding Trey?

    Totally agree with Chuck at 8:10 about The Bubble being overrated.
    I remember in '99(?) when the Knicks and Spurs faced off in the "strike shortened season" and to this day ots called "the strike shortened season." It always has that asterisk. How much more, then, should a championship in The Bubble, for all the reasons Barkley names, be taken with the grain of salt?
    Especially looking at them now, the Lakers' Anthony Davis trade backfired.

    i disagree with Chuck's and many others bubble take...what i saw was straight basketball with no distractions...the games were intense and the players were more focused because that's all they had..BASKETBALL...THE CREAM ALWAYS RISES TO THE TOP.......i saw amazing stuff..i can't forget the move that Murray put on the Lakers...if that was outside the bubble..people would have talking about that play for awhile..i think many people outside the bubble were preoccupied with COVID..many didn't pay attention..still a poor excuse to oisult those who played..it was more like a NCAA tournament atmosphere without the fans. GREAT BASKETBALL!!

    As a Hawks fan, I love this. Because it exposes people like Barkley, who really don't watch the Hawks. Shaq at least watches Trae and knows what he can do. But the rest of the cast don't watch the Hawks and really evaluate the team like they should. We Hawks fans know that Oneyka Okongwu is offensively BETTER than Capela, and has a chance to really do damage vs the Heat. And his defensive energy has be great all year. The Hawks definitely steal one of the first 2 games in Miami. We have enough shooting to beat the Heat in Game 1 or 2, and Okongwu might be an UPGRADE over Capela.

      He didn’t lol I remember everybody talks about game 5 but Bron had 40 in that and they lost because Danny bricked and Jimmy had a nice triple double but come game 6 Jimmy disappeared played 45 minutes and basically did nothing while LeBron had the triple double and the Lakers ran away with it

Unpopular opinion the 2020 Bubble was better than last years playoffs outside of Nets vs Bucks, Suns vs Clippers, and maybe a couple of games in the Finals.

      If you think the Hawks who were a 9th seed, but could have easily been an 8th or 7th seed heading into the last week of the regular season are getting smashed you don't know basketball. Hawks and Nets both have good chances to advance against higher seeds, Hawks would have had a great chance with Capela and John Collins.

    I just don’t understand how you underestimate the Hawks. Offensively they can hang with the best. I think they are able to get timely stops. Most importantly they have a grit that allows them to find ways to win when they are not at their best. Even with them missing key players I don’t think you can count them out.

    Frustrating for Cavs fans. Caris LeVert stagnating the ball, playing ISO way too much. Kevin Love only played 10 minutes, having only played the last seconds of the second half. Rondo played 15 mins all of a sudden? No rotations in for Okoro, Cedi, Lamar Stevens. Hawks taking advantage of Cavs terrible defensive switches. Reckless turnovers.

    Great season as a whole for Cleveland I thought. Garland and Mobley showed they have elite big 2 potential. Hopefully they hit in the draft this summer. All they really have to do is wait for their two franchise guys to develop and build a nice roster around them. And maybe keep Lebron away unless he agrees to simply progress what they're doing instead of tearing it down and rebuilding it.

      If you hoop in an empty gym and then in a gym full of fans it’s different. Then you mix in all the other stuff like travel, 82 game season and how your body responds mentally and physically it’s def different. Which is why the lakers won with a rested Lebron and Anthony “Street Clothes” Davis both healthy and rested and ready to play hard for 8 games then a postseason run. They earned that title and congrats to the Lakers but you can’t compare it to ANY other title for sure.

      Jimmy butler was a closer in the bubble, he played great, but I do agree with Charles that was an anomaly. I don't think he was saying Butler can't close games, what he was really saying is there is another level of great closers like Durant, Trae Young, Giannis and Miami doesn't have that.

      He played great in the finals but Lebron averaged a 30 12 and 9 on 60% from the field and 41% from 3. Jimmy didn’t outplay him. If he did then the heat would’ve won the finals lol
