Tip for beginners(like I was). If you are looking at 'months to pay off investments' and whatnot, well buying another field is ALWAYS the most profitable...until you can't keep up with the work then buying a tractor/new implement is. To keep wheat running for instance, you need your one harvest per year to get like 150,000 liters(not ridiculously tough, but that's just one crop and this thing can do 6.) At that stage...you probably already have a good idea of what you want your farm to be doing, so choosing a production line should be much easier than "does x give me the most profit." It should be, "what can I do with all these fun plants I am harvesting....oh, let's buy that." I spent my first 30 hours in game trying to get the spinach empire...but when I switched over after I painstakingly worked up and bought the equipment....farming spinach wasn't as fun for me(sure I COULD use an AI worker....but what do I do in the meantime when all my fields are full of spinach?) So skipped the production purchase and after one harvest took a loss on the equipment and went back to what I was doing to begin with the next year.
FS25 is showing us why small family farms are all disappearing. Crop values aren't up and all the prices for productions and machinery are sky-rocketing. The economy in this game is feeling really bad to me.
Thank you for the effort you put into this chart. I do like that you added the max input/output, that sure puts a damper on the rice that is 9 in and 15 out, even though it is not the best price per cycle. it can really affect your total. I do think something that doesn't usually get added to these charts and I think should be is crop yield. So oats show a good output per month but if you have to plant 5 fields to do it, it can make a difference what you plant. (Thank is only an exaggeration to make a point) It would take some time but it has been done before and you could add it as liters per acre. (I don't have FS 25 yet so I can't do it, and I'm not asking you to do it, just making an observation). I think another thing that player should take into consideration (and in my opinion-changed) is the speed of production. When I first started using production, I harvested ONE field of cotton and it took 34 MONTH to process it (I had already replanted the field before I realized that and I plowed it to plant something else.) The other was trying to run a lumber business, It takes almost no time to fill a sawmill but forever to empty it, so I could not do only wood. (maybe that has been fixed i never tried again). I just changed an xml file for the sugar mill, I couldn't produce enough to keep my candy and dessert mills running. I harvested almost a million liters of sugar cane, I only change the speed not the total price, so I will get the same price for the sugar cane, just faster.;
Great info, thanks! Doesn’t take into consideration the cost of selling the product though. If you don’t do the pallets yourself, that’s anywhere from a 40-20% hit to revenue. Ouch!!
I found it worth it. They a porpotional a little more expensive but you can get more money in the first months until you can offer a bigger production.
The small production are perfect for me, i try to do a small farmer with vegetable and sell everything on the small farm stand, because i will never be able to afford between 280 or 350k just to start some porduction
Question: Can you use the grain mill on the River map that you DONT own to pay to produce flower from your wheat? I have looked all over and can't find where to change production from just being a selling point for wheat. I really wanted to process my first harvest and sell it to the bakery instead of just dumping my grain in the pit and getting a little money.
@@Driver53Gaming Thanks, that's kinda what I figured but I spent like 30 minutes running around that building looking for what to do... I spent even longer trying to figure out how to sell a bunch of wood at the saw mill. The office is a long way away from the drop off point by the water.
I think purchasing a small grain mill day one to be worth the cost. Substantial investment initially but you should be able to run 2 crops without much issue. One for sure with your own field crop and then if you harvest in contracts and keep the extra to toss in it adds up quickly. If you grow a bunch of different crop types to feed in it will produce a large amount to sell by time peak prices happen. An extra 40%+ more money is always welcome to start to boost your income and start to fill out your equipment to get better yields and have more options for taking easy money contracts.
I added a small oil mill and dairy on Riverbend because I wanted to have a sort of cottage industry. I also have goats and use the dairy to make goat cheese. Yes, it's slow earning but I didn't want to 'cheat' with the govt subsidy or have a large loan. But I'm having fun and that's what it's all about. In FS22 i was all money money money, now I'm trying to be realistic, like 'what would I do if I really owned the farm' :)
my first impression - (and my first time playing a game in this franchise, no cheats) those small productions were a waste for me on my first try. i had a few starting fields with canola that needed harvest on day 1. the small oil factory capacity was so low that i filled 3 small oil factories with canola in that 1 day of harvesting 3 small fields. and the output is so insanely slow. like you fill it with canola one day, then turn that over into product takes months and months, meaning you can't input any more canola at all. it is like aging wine in a barrel, but you better not be producing too many grapes because these factories capacity and production amount per cycle means no more grapes input for a long time. summary: for the cost of the structure... the input capacity is horrible. the production amount/speed is horrible. they will not process the input in pace with the amount you repeatedly harvest.
Hello I was just wondering if you could do one of the oil mill because I want to buy it in my save but I don't really know how good it is or is it worth it👍
I put the small grain mill in, and it had 200,000 L of wheat and oat in it straight away 🤷♂️ Nice surprise, but also very unrealistic lol guess it will allow me to get a feel for the game on my first savegame
Well whoever played past fs games knows the crops are op on easy mode, if you gonna stick on easy mode and just looking to pile up cash not even animals are worth it, these tests should be done in normal economy to be fair.

The spreadsheet just said several grain types make less flour than the volume of grain. 5 wheat makes 4 flour. Oats are the only grain that are a 1 to 1.
@@Rasipwhich would be realistic of you were making rolled oats, since there wouldn't be any loss. With grain into flour there's always a loss, just not 20% Although I guess if you're turning it into plain white flour it might be that much between all the husks and everything that gets sieved out
Okay..but this is just to make some flour. Wich never was a great production to make money out of. But what can you do with flour? You can make bread with it! Isn't that like, a way more profitable thing to do?

Do you find it fun? Then yes, it is worth it! Not everyone plays to min/max a game. I would rather have fun than grind in a way that is less enjoyable

One thing to consider is the crop density when growing. The fs 25 manual actually has the crop quanty in litres per ha

grain mill is full production. that rocks only four months for pay off at max output

Appriceiate the break down on this. Its going to help alot!
I got the small sawmill and the production pace is painfully slow. So unless you plan to by multiples, im not sure its really worth the time.
Can you please tackle rice related productions next , and which rice type more efficient per ha in those productions

If you only have a small to medium field for each grain the small's 21k a year is a lot easier to hit than 216k (oats) for the large mill.

To pay off 288,000 @ $9817 is 30 months, that’s 30 months of full production, these aren’t worth it.
