Weird to hear this years later after the girl of my dreams asked ME to listen to it as she didn't know if I was in a broken relationship or co-parenting with my ex, which was the case. Sadly, didn't work out, I have a son and she didn't understand he takes priority, she started her family and admitted she wished she knew then what she knew now. Wasn't meant to be but we both left a piece of our hearts with each other. It is what it is. Hope she grows old and happy with her husband and I will just focus on being a father because my standards got too high after her. I'm ok with that.

Hehe, my actual bf sent me this song before we start being something more than two people who speaks really often. What I think is meant by these words is this. The guy sees the girl from across the room. He’s taken aback by her beauty and confidence and notices that it is shielded by her past. He isn’t only interested in her as maybe the woman to spend the rest of his life with. He’s saying to her, I’m here for you NOT MATTER WHAT, you can lean on me. I’ll always be the one.
