i don't understand this whole concept of funeral processions and why they need to have right of way. what's wrong with "everybody meet up at this cemetary at 3pm" ?
I always pass processions in the 2nd lane and going the opposite direction, I don't stop. That's just how I roll.
Isn’t there usually a police blocking the second lane?
That's why it is safer not to pass or get in a hurry
Why does opposing traffic try to work their way through a funeral procession when their light turns green?
Because that’s what a green light is meant for.
Cars in a funeral should always have the flag. The funeral home should be responsible for each car in the procession to have a flag.
It should be mandatory that car stopped in and also stop. Reason is that people will look. An a accident can occur. I think the funeral police officers should have the right to stop traffic in its destination. Reason check and see how many officers have been hurt or died to negligent of other drivers because they do not want to stop. They should be license and staff with the sheriff's department. For only this detail. Reason legal right on the streets and respect of the community as other law-enforcement it's giving. As they give it to the police state patrol and sheriffs. It is a safety community service that they are giving and that they are also putting their life on the line. They also should be required to have safety emergency lights. To let coming and going traffic be alert. This is my thoughts and restitched should be given to all parties.
I use my high beams in funeral processions
