I grew up with hearing those great sounds on tv every Saturday morning in the 50's and 60's. as a teenager. Guess who eventually joined the navy in 1964, and still love to hear it now in my 70's??? Beautifully Done. Thanks to the entire orchestra.
In the '70s, I watched each episode of Victory at Sea during two WESTPAC cruises aboard the USS Constellation. I'm thrilled to be rehearsing this arrangement with The Henrico Concert Band. Hats off to the Rocky Mountain Wind Symphony's rendition -- superb!
I hate to be “that guy,” but the composer’s name is spelled “Rodgers,” not “Rogers.” But aside from my being a grammar and spelling Grinch, this is a really nice recording. Thanks for posting it!

I played this in jr. high school some 50 years ago. I've always loved Bennett's arrangements of band music.
Thanks for responding, Cheers!

Wish all the best to the Henrico Concert Band. Thanks for your service to the USA and your comments to the RMWS!
I remember the Connie when it was in SanDiego. Hubs was on Repair ship.
Love those Woodwinds front and center!! Strings must be on strike. Great music for this series and have the LP for over 50 years now, well worn.
Glad you like them! I do too. One of my favs. Cheers DOLRED!
Thank you! We enjoyed listening and watching.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Nice in concert presentation. It's too bad their aren't more community concert bands in the USA.
I play the clarinet in one and I feel so very fortunate.
"And Now".........
Even better than the original
Thanks Carl, for your comment! Vic
On "Song of the High Seas", the chime bells distinguish Mr. Bennett's version from that of Ron Goodwin's across the pond.
