Oh, I wish I could do this more often. The drive to the coast of NC from the QTH (to this particular area) is about 6.5 - 7 hours depending on traffic. One way! :)
Before you ask, no I didn't leave Miss Hazel at the picnic shelter when I packed up. 🐶 My daughter (K4TLI) was off-camera and brought Hazel along behind me as I walked to the minivan. 😊 Please click the below to read full details about this activation, including all equipment links, at QRPer.com. qrper.com/2024/12/coastal-qrp-chasing-high-bands-with-the-elecraft-kx2-and-ax1-at-fort-macon-state-park/?swcfpc=1
Awesome, the case you use for your KX2 is the same tyoe or brand I use for my MTR-4b. I should take my Anatolian Pyrenees mix on my next activation :) Happy New Year! Glad I made the log, yeah lots of QSB that day. BTW, I was home for lunch and heard you on HamAlert and didn't have time to change my bug to a lower speed, sorry about that.
Excellent, Joe, and yes you should take your pup on your next outing! Brilliant working you and no worries abouit bug speed. You sounded great! Happy New Year!
What I would do to play radio on the beach in a warm place. Yes Thomas you got the AX1 support discerption correct. Keep warm activations coming.

Thomas, great video... it inspires me to get up on the hill and hunt for some signals with my KX2!
And the KX2 is the perfect radio to do just that! Happy New Year, OM!
Happy New Year!
Thank you! Happy New Year to you too, Bill!

16:00 serious question... is that a bird in the background imitating your CW? 🤣
Wait, no... it's the radio. Weird!
I do remember one CW activation a couple years ago where I swear a mocking bird was imitating a bit of CW!
Just found your channel and I am enjoying it, I am going to try to learn code and start doing some Qrp radio work thanks
Wow! WA on 10m with an AX1 cross continent!
