Why does Paul & Silas sing at midnight??. In Acts 16, Paul and Silas find themselves in the lowest level of the Roman dungeons, trying to survive. There in the inner cell, Paul and Silas remember the words of the text, and begin to sing as God commanded .

"After they had been severely flogged, they were thrown into prison, and the jailer was commanded to guard them carefully. When he received these orders, he put them in the inner cell and fastened their feet in the stocks. About midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the other prisoners were listening to them."

Not at all. Paul didn;t need to figure anything out. GOd had alreasy told him years before that he must suffer much for the name of Jesus CHrist - Acts 9.
