A friendly tip to ScreenSurgeons, I own a computer shop and I have found that using the X-Acto knife works well for the adhesive and rubber screw covers but a guitar pick works wonders for separating plastics on the bezel or any other type of plastic clip. Thanks for sharing this video, I needed to locate those pesky bezel screws. Subbed.
I have the Pavilion D7 model DV7-7102GA, I looked for months how to get the bottom of the bezel off, this video reveals there are two screws hiding behind the speaker grill cover, which peels back!!! Many thanks for the info, saved me searching further, really informative video
Resolution could be better, but otherwise a terrific video! (This video is also good for the dv7-7023cl.) I first tried to replace the screen by following the steps in the HP dv7 hardware maintenance manual, which not only instructs you to disassemble half the computer (which really only helps when putting the bezel back on), but has incomplete instructions for removing the keyboard (and I never did figure out how to do that). ScreenSurgeons saved me a lot of time!
Good video. I'm trying to remove the cover on the upper side. Where the keyboard. I want to look why the system fan does not work. But I'm somewhere stuck trying to remove it. Can you please help me?
I had tried replacing the cable for the screen because it was severed, but right up until it was severed, the screen worked just fine. Now, however, with a new screen cable installed, the screen only shows a blank white screen. Could the screen have been damaged somehow?
Good video, but showing us where to begin peeling the plastic back to get to the screw was completely off camera. But still a very good and informative video and exactly what I was looking for. Thank you!
Awesome laptop, if you get the dv7t-7000 Quad, very similar. I honestly suggest getting the Nvidia Geforce 650M and WUXGA 1080p screen. The preformance is incredible.
Hey Mr. Laptop Dok, i have the same Laptop and i have chancend my screen. Now it comes only a white screen. Grapics and Extern Monitor works perfect. Is a Hardware Installation required ?
Don't crack the screen, and get a good backpack, laptop bag to carry it in. I got one, and had to have it replaced due to a cracked screen, same as the one I'm usung now. gonna look into different options. Doesn't look that hard really.
