Just an FYI, South Korea offered food aid first. North Korea didn't even have to ask. But as usual, the North Korean Government declined that offer out of pride. If you're proud that NK asked India for food aid, I'm sorry to break it to you, but it's because NK st*pidly declined SK's assistance. The problem I have with sending food aid to NK is that there is no full transparency where the food goes. It already happened before in 1995 during the famine, where food allocated only goes to the elite NK people. The majority of the people do not get the correct amount as needed. So if food aid is to be provided, Canada, India and Vietnam must insist to have the distribution checked independently to ensure no mismanagement.

Just an FYI, South Korea offered food aid first. North Korea didn't even have to ask. But as usual, the North Korean Government declined that offer out of pride. If you're proud that NK asked India for food aid, I'm sorry to break it to you, but it's because NK st*pidly declined SK's assistance. Of course they will ask for food aid from the countries they have least/no issues with. But don't get your hopes up that NK likes India and that they don't look down on you. They're currently just really desperate. NK has been looking down on all other countries since the Korean War.

The problem I have with sending food aid to NK is that there is no full transparency where the food goes. It already happened before in 1995 during the famine, where food allocated only goes to the elite NK people. The majority of the people do not get the correct amount as needed.
So if food aid is to be provided, Canada, India and Vietnam must insist to have the distribution checked independently to ensure no mismanagement.

As a canadian i feel we NEED to help, not only to make relations better but also because we can help, and we should. Being canadian also means helping out others countries in need.
