A quick note on asphalt that I noticed, open to comment and critique: Because you cannot store asphalt, this can mean that bitumin, the oil refining byproduct used to make it, can build up very quickly. If allowed to fill completely, your refinery will stop producing both bitumin and fuel until the backlog is cleared. With that said though, bitumin generally sells for a pretty good price on the export market. So an easy and profitable way to clear the backlog in between bursts of road construction can be to set up a tanker train line to transport excess bitumin for export. If you find that your supplies are running low or you're gearing up for a big project, just send that train to the depot and have it wait for when you next need it. Bonus: When upgrading roads from gravel to pavement using your own natively produced materials, I've found it very useful to build temporary parallel dirt roads as a bypass to keep traffic flowing; it may be slow, but it's far better than having everything shut down because the trucks and buses can't get through.
I think it's actually worth building a gravel bypass. It isn't instant like dirt, but it doesn't take very long, and gravel is not very resource-intensive to produce, meaning I don't feel bad when I eventually demolish it. The 25mph increase over dirt can make a huge difference to keep your economy flowing while the asphalt is being laid.
I always keep a highway or main line in mind.. and start construction when asphalt setup is ready. That way you have a grid that can stretch out with more medium roads, and local roads. It can pay off to have a elevated line through, with off branches.. It just takes forever to build
5:00 - For building on the grid, I would like to add that you can use F1 to toggle between No Grid, Grid, and Snap to Grid. So if you want a nice grid-based city, you can use grid snapping. You will see a magnet icon appearing over the "terrain grid" on the right hand side tooltip.
Special thanks for the firefighting helicopters! Here's a trick for building long roads much more quickly. The roads are built starting from an end that is accessible and the process is painfully slow. What I do is build a dirt road alongside the new road, and connect it to the dirt road at regular intervals. This divides the new road into separate individually accessible segments that can be built concurrently. Construction speed is multiplied by the number of segments created, as long as the equipment (mostly bulldozers for a gravel road) is available in sufficient numbers. The dirt road can be deleted once the work is completed.
Great video. As a player returning after a couple of years for a new serious playthrough this helped tremendously. 1) Refreshed my memory on many things. 2) Brought me up to speed on some of the additions since i last played. 3) Despite 500+ hours played i actually learned a couple things that i never knew but i'm pretty sure were there all along, such as the signage on the front of buildings which i am sure i have seen in videos and screenshots right from the start (im probably going to spend an hour now putting signs on everything ive built so far lol). Besides the helpful info the production quality was very good, including the narration which was clear and also calmy enthusiastic instead of being forced, which i very much liked. Thanks for your efforts!
i went through the tutorials 3 times and then started a new game and 10 minutes in it was such a mess as i couldnt tell what i was doing or needed to do first or anything! lol - so this is a useful video!
Oh gosh the labelling one, I guess I accidentally did one like two years ago on a bus terminal filling it with the town's name, I thought it's a rare generated thing until now.
When you press N it also speeds up the crops growth which I think is a bug but so far nothing has been done about it. Also great video. I'm sure it'll help new players to struggle less.
Thanks to your videos, i was able to understand the power connection and some important things to start building. This game is very complex and i'm amazed that we can change every aspect. Naming buildings! How cool is that? I didn't know it was possible till now. I started playing 2 days ago. And it's not easy at all. Playing on realitic mode is no joke, but it's fun!
This is amazing! I've been playing for a 2 years and still struggle with many things like the best way to organize a rail system and distribution network, how to create distribution lines, how different power cables and towers work, and so on. If you could make a video that includes how to best lay out and organize sewage and water + treatment infrastructure as well as rail distribution and traffic signals which were added in the latest update that would be great!
I'm still learning the water system myself. I only really play the game these days for my series, so I only really spend time learning the ins and outs of it during recordings.
1. The bus line set up for power plants never works fluently unless pretty close to a custom house. It is way better to plan ahead and support it with a bus stop to a city with worker surplus. 4. The way you "store" concrete and asphalt is by building a powder-cement silo attached to the concrete factory and a Tank for Bitumen attached to the asphalt plant.
Great tips. I always put 2 shitty houses near power plants though, even if i have to supply them with a small store and a heating plant, because it means guaranteed employees at hte power plants 24/7.
That works well if you don't have pollution enabled. If you do, people will get sick real fast that way, and die rather quickly. I'm playing with it turned on, so I'm forced to separate my town from the polluting industries quite a bit.
Concerning the supply of workers to a power plant: cable cars are the most viable option not only for spacing, but for snow too. It's true they rely on power, but if the plant is distant from the city you will have terrible delays with buses... it's kinda an equal choice, personally I prefer cable cars, I start supplying with buses until the cable car circuit is well oiled.
I noticed that whenever you press the N key to get rid of dirt, crops also grow an increment. So you can spam N to make them grow faster and get a harvest in 30 seconds :) I don't know If they patched it yet, but I never see anyone notice it.

It is the current test version. You can access it by right clicking the game in Steam, select properties, go to the "Betas" menu, and select the test branch from the drop down menu. The game should update itself, and you can test the new features. Keep in mind that it's not the stable version, so messing up save files while unlikely, it's still possible.
Wow. I had no idea what you meant, so I googled it. I never heard of that channel but seeing someone else use this same text-to-speech reach such a wide audience really makes me happy. There's hope for me yet. XD

@@kamilk6956 Kinda-sorta. I guess. :) I separated them because I felt that the auto separation option was its own thing, it's useful for freight trucks too, not just buses.

I think my gas hit the floor when I found out I could mirror buildings! Such a life saver, thank you so much for mentioning that!
I have hundreds of hours in this game and didn´t know you can mirror buildings with "T"...
This will help me so much :-D

Thanks comrade, tips appreciated.
oh my....T for mirroring is genius. So glad it got added :D
Curently not active but that will stick in my head for sure :) Thanks.
The text was a great touch to add additional information. The size and font are perfect, IMHO.

This was great work, and much higher quality than the videos for WRSR that are currently popular. Very keen to see more videos from you.
Very appreciated! These makes the learning curve much easier for new players

text in a video is a great thing, it helps clarify and remember. I think it quickly becomes necessary!
I´ve got quite a bunch of hours in the game, but I learned a lot from you. Very nice video. I still call myself a noob. Thanks for uploading.

Thanks for sharing! Some good tips in here, plus I love seeing other people's republics.
I didn't know about the naming feature. That's really cool!
Fantastic video! Straight to the point and cohesive!
after years ... this helps me a lot thx
Please please please start uploading gameplays! Your republic looks AMAZING :O

With nuclear plant, you can make nice little Springfieldov with nuclear pub.

Excellent video!
You can use snap-to grid.. that usually prevents the pesky wonky intersections
This is amazing, thank you so much.
thank you for making these videos - they are informative and helpful
After 60 hours on the game I realized I still didn't know about some features like fire helis
Great tips, thank you
Thank you Comrade!
Very good video!
Best! Great tips! Thanks mate!
pretty helpful, thx a lot! :)
You are a credit to peoples republics
The things you think you know! Thanks!
Why the ai voice
Maybe comrade not speak capitalist
Trump doesn't want let us know he likes this game 😂
This is actually a TikTok ad
How do you curve the roads up the mountain? Is that a hot key?
10:59 N button also affect on farms and crops grow faster
Some useful tips there, thanks!
N, I believe, is a debug tool for passing time, or something like that, bc it also moves the growth progress of the fields forward
Thank you. Liked and subscribed 🇦🇺
playing this game since summer 2019,and still doesn't know how the F train signals works
nice video... but having the game music playing in the background is very distracting and makes some parts hard to hear.
"A nicer republic" I took that remark personally, my republic is ugly as sin and that's the way I likes it.
Very good video
I wonder why it is only stripes i can't see the video..
This game seems complicated as hell, but I have never been prouder to be a citizen of the Soviet Union!
Nice video keep it up!
audio tip: vocals should always be MUCH louder than background music
This came in handy
Does it remove the 2km limit for parking search? If so, amazing! If not, a bit disappointing. However still a great game indeed.
i didnt even know you could connect helipads to fire stations...
I tried finding this game but its no longer available on steam :(
Hopefully it will get sorted in a bit.
Thanks a lot
Do one for Oil and Alluminium

Хорошо что я знаю английский.
this sounds like AI voice, is it?
Next time please turn off music or speak louder
One more advice: better not get more than 50k population
Why would you make a great video and then not even bother to record a voice over? Sorry, i gave up after 3 minutes. Big fail.
