I’m watching this in April 2020, during the “stay at home, shelter in place” Coronavirus mandates, and this is helping me more than anything else. These videos are the best thing I can be doing during this difficult time. I’ve started painting again and I’m serious that it’s helped me so very much. Thank you, Emma, you’re the greatest.💖
Emma, one of the things I love about your tutorials is you showing us your mistakes. That said, your mistakes are 100% better than my best efforts! It gives a beginner like me a boost to know even pros like you won't always be pleased with their paintings. Thanks!
I could watch you paint all day long. Very soothing, calming, entertaining. Actually spent most of my free time yesterday watching your videos and found several projects I need to do this weekend. Thank you so much.
I haven’t commented on your channel before, but I’ve been watching it for a good long while now. Can I just say how much I appreciate your honesty about your watercolour learning curve and the mistakes you’ve made? So many artists show only their most pristine, perfect pieces, and that’s fine because I can still learn a great deal from their tutorials. But there’s something so reassuring in the fast that whilst you’re obviously creating stunningly beautiful watercolour art, you also show some of the less successful experiments that you’ve learned from. It gives me confidence that even when I’m not happy with the results of my painting time, I’m learning from it every second I have my brush to paper. Hope this finds you and your family happy, healthy and smiling. Thank you for your always entertaining and educational videos. You’re appreciated. ☺️
I'm such a fan of your tutorials. So great! I've been following for a few months now so going back to watch this one was very interesting. I can see how much you've grown in confidence and yet you are still transparent (like watercolor, ha!) and approachable. And your son is so itty bitty here - adorable. Thank you so much for creating and sharing such wonderful content. I've wanted to learn watercolor for 30 years, and I'm finally doing it thanks to you.
I just started playing with watercolour and your videos are by far my favourite. You talk though the steps very clearly and also inspiring seeing your artistry!
yay after lots of practice I've finally learned how to control the water after watching many of your videos its exciting to have gotten there also way more confidence I can actually stop painting for a few days and still have way more confidence than I did before I would approach it .so now i really look forward to watching with a little cockiness like yea i got this emma taught me lol
Thank you for all the tutorials, Emma! I have been watching and steadily improving. My husband just surprised me with a bunch of new items from my ‘watercolor wishlist’. I have to try these poopies. They’re gorgeous!
YEEAAAAHHHHH!!! A new video!!!! I've just started to dabble in water color painting....well, actually painting in general. I've loved your videos over all the others out there. I feel like I can relate to some of your silliness and how you explain things!! Thanks for taking time out to post another video!! Congrats on your baby boy!! He's a handsome little guy!! :)
Love your videos so much!! Your loose style is awesome! I can’t wait for another new video😁 Thanks so much for taking the time to make these watercolor videos, I really appreciate it!!
Another fun, easy (I think) colorful video from you, Emma. You're so kind to share with us, even when your house or your life is full. Thank you for making watercolor so easy by your descriptions. I always understand what you're saying. And I'm in the minority here, but I like your background music--it's kind of your hallmark on youtube. So thanks for creating more videos of late, especially with your life so active. I eagerly look forward to your videos, and love it when you post a new one! Thank you, and have a lovely month and fall. (Hey! Maybe you could paint some of Canada's gorgeous fall leaves, maples, birch, acorns, etc. in a video?) I'd really love it! Happy day, Emma! :) Fanna Turano Denver, CO
I actually think your "big blob" happens to look very atmospheric, effortless, and lovely...and the burgundy color would go wonderful in the sunflower...or any other of the flowers for that matter.. as well! But then again, burgundy is my favorite color😁
BEAUTIFUL!! I’m a beginner and you do describe things very well and maybe what I’m going to ask would be a pain but it would be most helpful for those of us just starting, could you make two of each flower? The first flower just like this, close up so we can see the detail of the stroke and when you do the second identical flower zoom out a tad just enough so the pallet, paper,, and whatever you’re doing to the right as well. It’s probably water, are you dipping in clean or dirty? , maybe you’re blotting on a towel idk, but just so the whole process is visible to a beginner. Thank you for taking time away from your precious baby to teach me something so foreign. 🙂
I agree with about the distracting background repetitive music...but muting it means that I miss your explanations, and I do enjoy them! Your flowers have lovely color, which probably is because you mix your own combinations, and the individual hues separate out just enough to give depth and nuance to the overall color.
Hi again - another superb video! It occurred to me after watching pink peony, your loose and free style are most inspiring. I started out that way then began the "'tightening up" phase. the spontaneity seemed to disappear. So my search is to recapture that elusive freedom. You express that language in your videos. Some instructors will harp on 'being loose' but aren't in their own tutorials. I really hadn't noticed this till now. Such a refreshing experience with your work, without mentioning it, you automatically do it. btw the music at first had me turning off my sound to see if was my air conditioner acting up - (it wasn't :) but it's certainly not that important. Maybe a Philip Glass piece or something along those lines would work better for them. Nonetheless, another tutorial - well done!
I love your tutorials. I'm a beginner and really like acrylics but not really fond of watercolor. But following you, has helped me a lot. Where are you located? I've never heard anyone pronounce the color "mauve" as you do. ( I've always heard it pronounced like AU in"taught".
WONDERFUL vids… background music doesn’t bother me at all and I don’t feel it’s distracting …However, you really do have a very sweet voice so if you forgo the music, that would be fine too!!! Keep the vids coming, I am a huge fan👩🏼🎨✨✨
I love your videos but that repetative tune you have in the background is awful. I want to follow what you are saying but that awful tune distracts me. Having said that, the noise from your in laws and baby son was really minimal. I do love how well you paint. I have begun painting as much the way you explain it as possible. I am getting mixed results but overall I think I am inproving slowly. Thank you for taking the time to produce the videos. You give a total beginner like me, some confidence to try. Thank you for sharing your skills with us. God bless you and your family. Have a great day. Waving to you from South Wales. UK. 😊
please turn off that music!!!! It is very annoyingly repetative !! Your background sounds, baby, etc, are life and are not annoying, but turn off that music!!! Love your painting .

Abi Wattai omg, I always make mistakes and you should see some of my early work.. it was NOT great. Just keep at it and you’ll get there!
