Lessons I have learned (1)Do not let any obstacle hinder your dreams.(2)sacrifice for a positive agender pays.(3) Hard work is the only key to success.(4) Submission is good but do it wisely.(5) Education is for us all, regardless of one's age.(6) Always invest in your family because of your old age. Finally but not the least make God your best friend and always learn to forgive even the unforgivable.Thank you mum and Monicah.Mum you are a strong woman and you're going far in Jesus mighty name!
Very inspiring story from mum You have motivated me ,and you have given me the reason to go back to school ,and i attain my degree and if its Gods will even PHD,i did Form 4 in 1991,i attained grade C in a Provincial High which i joined with 427marks,,but being the first born in a family of 7,in a poor background i never continued with college.before end of this year i will have to join University by Gods grace Thanks alot Monica Kagoni for such an encouraging testimony
Hi Liz, you managed to join university? I also would like to. I did 2006 kcse attained C+ but bcos of financial strains I didn't join college. That's my dream.
I have just come across this interview this morning. Shockingly I went back to school 2 weeks ago to persue my diploma and then degree in my early 40s. I almost gave up but this interview has inspired me.
This is an excellent interview. All form of abuse is urgly and must be stopped. Abusers are merciless and ruthless. Call them out and stop them. Expose the bruises, it's the only way to cure and wellness.
The most important thing I have learnt from her which I have also held on is seeking the blessings of my children from their father. And for that reason I forgave my husband too .
Your introduction said it all " andika kioneki giaku kihengere-ini na number nene nitondu muthenya umwe wa mithenya nigigakinyanira" every woman should listen to this inspiring story ♥️
I already love this woman. I love people who choose to live a better and become better person and not pity themselves. Change and transition is an individual decision. Dr. Penny you are a great inspiration.
Such a lovely & humble lady. Dr Penny has just taught me the true meaning of forgiveness and letting go as instruments of real healing. God bless her with long life & wisdom to continue inspiring humanity.
Such profound lessons from Rev./ Dr. Penny Njoroge; 1. forgiveness, 2. it's never too late to accomplish dreams, 3. seeking the blessings of God and those He has placed on those seats of honor and blessings, regardless of what we know or think of them! May the Lord help us!
Am 21 yrs old ... Monica am a big fan of metha 😊..what was striking for me from Rev Dr penny is whatever you may have lost or taken away by the devil will surely be repaid heavily by God , all the sacrifices our siblings do for us especially firstborns is worth n God will pay it n lastly is that she acknowledges that life is too short n we are here for a while so we shouldn't be ungrateful for whatever reason ❤❤❤❤
Very inspirational. I remember its just recently a certain priest was reprimanding women in either Bungoma or Kakamega, one of those two, telling them that they shouldn't complain about their husbands coz they've got 6 more chances to marry and i protested. Why then should we have Holy Matrimony if that's the case? I feel as much as both genders may go through abuse, the society is to blame. This is why; when men cheat, they are validated mostly quoting the bible that David n Solomon had many wives but when a woman wants to leave the same man she is said to be foolish and demishing her own home. Therefore, can we stop with the double standards and solve this problem before the marriage institution becomes extinct. That phrase "GOD HATES DIVORCE" has caused many to endure hell in their marriages silently coz their is no where to run to.
Take heart, you are sooo young. Please believe us who have seen more sunrises. There’s never a time to give up, and more importantly, with every sunrise, you have a chance to change the trajectory of your life. Pray that Hod to deman your steps, and slowly change one thing at a time, as small as waking up early and getting ready and making your bed…you might not have any plans but your showing Hod that at the mention of one word if He changed your life, you would be ready and responsible to nurture and spread that blessing. I am speaking at 29 but who is God? I got married. Got a good job and hoping to start school next semester. At your age I was in jail. Don’t give up Njeri
There is one thing Dr. penny said and I've always known to be true.. if you have good parents and they tell you don't marry someone please don't marry that person. I've studied so many women in my life who had ok parents, and they refused to heed to their parents' warning/advise. Some of these women are now dead.. Kuna pahali wazazi uona mbali. Thanks dr.penny for sharing your story. Indeed the roots of toxic/abusive marriages have been in Kenya for so long!
Ngai wooooi.mimi sikufika hapo but kuna time my xhusband enjoyed me with my salo but nikasema never again.weuh mimi nikikuja metha ya kagoni nitajiiturura although i healed long time ago
mama you are blessed❤, the gals have found a mother in you, like Ruth did in Naomi. My prayer too..alot of lessons from this talk. Tears when you talk on depotation😢.
Waooo! 👏👏👏👏The truth about marriage and why we take long to leave has been let out..... Very brilliant lady.... You make me understand my mother, myself and many others. Thank you 🙏🙏
This story is just but the best. I love her vulnerability. It has come at a time alot is going on in my mind. Thank you Monica. Thank you Dr Penny. With God,it's possible
I looked forward to watching the live show but I got held up at work, Such an inspirational talk I have been So broken in what I thought was marriage from the man to mother in law but got the freedom and working on my vision so hard, may God remember those who are going through such.
Wow....I am just applauding this courageous and beautiful hearted lady. Truly, it takes God to stand up and call out abuse especially in the face of societal judgment. So many are suffering. My personal takeaway is you can rebuild and be restored at any age. I feel encouraged and inspired. I pray for God's love and favor to adorn her and her family in every step ❤
I couldn’t help but shed a tear listening to the struggles Dr.Penny and her family went through to acquire what so many take for granted; education. Reminds me of my late grandmother who ran away from her home to get education. Although she didn’t manage to go to school, she ensured that her children & grandchildren get educated. Dr. Penny your story inspires us to dream big and to honor the sacrifices made by our loved ones.
That's my grandma too.She wanted to study but was forcefully married off to a man almost the age of her Father. She made sure all her kids went to school.Onevof her daughter chose marriage instead of going to university, their relationship was broken because of that.
So refreshing and gives a lot of hope. Shosh you are very blessed indeed,at 76 years, you look very young and vibrant. Your knowledge and motivation is admirable
Well said dear, am also 12yrs out of marriage and the love I have for myself, I can only share with my kids. My focus is my kids, our cats, myself, my work, and our home. Also am grateful to God for his kindness and mercy. ❤❤
This story have encourage me... after 10yrs I have decided to go back for my degree...am very optimistic to pursue till PHD I HAVE TO PURSUE IT HELP ME GOD
Very inspiring It takes the hand of God to say enough is enough and leave and move on The fear of what people will say has made women hold on in abusive marriage while others are killed or made disabled
You can Forgive someone but have nothing to do with the abusive man Children can respect him and do everything and still he will bless whoever he wants (Nûage kūmarathima)
You Have Fought A Good Fight, 🥰 You Are Running Your Race Well.. The LORD God Almighty Honours Those Who Are Humble And Patient..When We WAIT😇 Upon The LORD, He Renews Our Strength For His Purpose.. Thank you Doctor..
God bless you Dr Penny your zeal and determination to pursue God and your dreams is most inspiring. This lessons will stay with me forever. Thank you Kagoni for hosting her. God bless you. ❤
I lost my 24years old marriiage and was broken into million small pieces😢 bt whenever i listen to this kind of stories i feel whole again thanks alot kagoni
I have learned that when marriage is not working, mother in law should not demand my kid ati alee coz am still alive and I am their mother. So, if her son is a dictator/narcissist in the marriage, let me go with the kid's later, i myself will reconnect them to their dad lakini si hii ufala ati watoto niletewe nitalea it's a BIG NO.
The pain in her eyes 😭😭😭. What i hv learnt is trusting in God. Making Him our shield. And the last One is protecting one's integrity, virtue's and heart.
I am inspired by Dr. Penny and kinda relate to her story. Thank you Doc for not giving up and for being real. I am now more than inspired to soldier on.
I am 40 years old this year, and I grew up in Kibera Laini Saba. I am a graduate. I have hope! I will be better!

Me too,am soo inspired

She looks younger than her age despite going through all the abuse God's grace is sufficient for sure
This is an excellent interview. All form of abuse is urgly and must be stopped. Abusers are merciless and ruthless. Call them out and stop them. Expose the bruises, it's the only way to cure and wellness.
If there’s someone who is happy about this interview is madam wakiama 🙏🙏

I went through emotional abuse for more than 20 years. Today am free but it wasn't easy
Listening to Dr. Penny I see my antie.... Married to a psychopath, going through so much, and she has a good pay
The most important thing I have learnt from her which I have also held on is seeking the blessings of my children from their father. And for that reason I forgave my husband too .

I'm so inspired by Dr. Penny, one day i shall testify in Jesus mighty name.
He hates divorce, but marriage is for two,if one rebels, then it's not marriage any more
These are the kind of women who should mentor the current so called modern woman. Unfortunately they are very few. She is very sober, realistic
This lady is so inspiring. I can listen to her all day. May God continue to enlarge your boundaries Dr. Penny. Thanks for persevering.
I am so encouraged by this story, I have changed my mind set, nothing is impossible, I would like to meet Dr on a personal level. It's amaizing
