I really hope the Inner Sphere Command Lance and the Inner Sphere Battle Lance get restocked.
Some day...
Just received one, 9/22/22.
@@joisey5896 Excellent!
@@joisey5896 Hell yeah, thanks for the heads up.
@@NonApplicable1983 Update: Today I went to the Catalyst website and it seems that the Inner Sphere Lance sets have been replaced by those Random Salvage boxes. :>(
Really liked this. Please continue exploring next steps in continuing down this hobby journey and also more paint tutorials. Thank you again!!
Will do, thanks!
Yeah I totally agree.
My first recommendation is always Tex Talks BattleTech because I'm a lore Gecko.
Tex is great!
What books contain sceneries to use?
Any of these.

Hey silly question from someone new to the game is their a list anywhere of what mecis are in each box set.
www.sarna.net/wiki/Miniatures_-_Catalyst_Game_Labs Scroll down a bit.
I am a lifelong Mechwarrior/macross fan just starting on tabletop. I bought clan invasion, armored combat, and the legendary warriors box. I would really like to know which lore I should start with. I LOVED the novellas.
I have to disagree to get the Total Warfare book as a stepping stone from the box sets. I would suggest the "Battlemech Manual" next. It covers and refers to everything Battlemechs. So Mech Vs Mech combat rules and info. Total Warfare is great for Combined Arms games but reading it can be difficult because it references SO MANY units in the rules. The Battlemech Manual is straight forward about Mech Vs Mech gameplay and rules making it easy to pick up and read. Most importantly understand.
That's a fair point. I own both and there is plenty of overlap between the two.
What would you reccommend to start playing in the ilClan Era (this is the current one, right?) as a complete newbie?
Without a starter box set in that era (possibly one in the works at Catalyst) I would buy the clan invasion box, and Total Warfare for the base ruleset. Then pick up ilClan era mechs like the Hammerhead as they are released.
Start by building a company if 12 that fits in the year 3025, which is still one of the most popular eras. That force should do just fine in basically any era with time period appropriate variants.
Get a few mechs from the Clan Invasion era and a Hammerhead and you're golden.

So one thing is bugging me, there are several Prints of the same Books, do they only differ in Cover Art or are there Erratas or Rule changes in them? I struggle to get the "newest" Versions currently, but does it makes sense?
It's a bit of a mess.
would like to see your take on the 'Battleforce' campaign book. the rules for military organization are closer to the original games intention. best of all, it doesn't get into the use of bv or tonnage or c-bills. just typical mech class (light, med, hvy or aslt) and the composition of Lance, company, battalion etc.
thus, using the combination of the random mech tables by faction and era, you can set up any size force. need a lance.. easy, look up the table and 4 rolls later, I have a Lance.
no confusing comparison charts to determine the min/max option for allotted points. it's quick, easy and follows the lore.
Unfortunately, the last time I saw the Battleforce campaign book was in the mid 90s. I may have to track down a more modern copy to see what's up.
@@MechanicalFrog the book I have from CGL is called 'interstellar operations - Battleforce'. the publishing info indicates 2016, 2021 second corrected printing. since I don't have the 2016 version, I don't know what has been corrected.
I love this book. I wish CGL would include the section 'warfare symbology' in every publication. especially the section that begins on pg 128, force generation. for all those players that want to know how to put together a Lance, star or comstar level, it's on pg 135. it has nothing to do with bv, tonnage or c-bills. it's just the weight class.
@@bruced648 That sounds cool. I'm going to have to look for a copy.
There is an "Introduction to Battletech" bundle on Humble Bundle right now. The $30 tier even includes a code for the physical beginner's box, and pdf's of the Battletech manual, Alpha strike, Total Warfare, and a ton more.
I have never bought a Humble Bundle so fast before xD
I grabbed it too because I didn't have most of those books on PDF.
I started off with the Beginner Box (2nd Edition), the Game of Armored Combat box, and the BattleMech Manual book. After that I moved on to the Total Warfare book, the Clan Invasion expansion box, and Clan Invasion Reinforcements box. After that I got the Apha Strike box and that's where I'm at now. I'll also def be picking up the Essentials box next month.
Good times had by all. Aim small, miss small, mechwarrior.
Hello, do you have any advice for resource which contain game play scenarios with objective based play apart from crippling or destroying x% of the opposition force? For example, one of the online starter PDF files contains an interesting scenario were the defender needs to protect a building from being destroyed by the attacker and can redirect can indirect incoming building damage to their mechs if the are positions within the line of sight of the attacker. Thanks!
Any of the campaign books available on the link below are going to have scenarios included. It's just a question of what factions you're interested in and where in the timeline you want to play.

If I had to pick one for Inner Sphere, I would recommend Day of Heroes. It has 4 campaigns in it that are solid.

I had all the acrylic paint for Gundam models, would you suggest against using it for the miniatures?
It should work fine. Any model acrylic should transfer.
The video game 🎮 🕹 was awesome
The games generally are!
Great video on a subject I don't see spoken of often enough.
Glad you enjoyed it
I know this video is almost a year old but what would I get if I wanted to run a battletech role play where the players are up start merc company
I would look into picking up the MechWarrior: Destiny sourcebook, which has the rules for a TRPG experience in the Battletech universe. store.catalystgamelabs.com/collections/battletech/products/mechwarrior-destiny

Thank You!
You're welcome. Happy hunting, Mechwarrior.
Question where do I find the record sheets for mechs in the salvage boxes and expansion boxes
bg.battletech.com/download/RS%20AGoAC%20Epub%201-26-19a.pdf?x64300 - The Basic ones.
store.catalystgamelabs.com/pages/search-results-page?q=record%20sheet&page=1&rb_product_type=Record%20Sheets - PDF versions for sale depending on your time period and Clan vs. IS.
There are occasionally sites that crop up with record sheets but they tend to disappear pretty quickly. I'm not sure if the IP holders are going after them on a regular basis.
@@MechanicalFrog thank you for the information
